Cannot Update to latest Big Sur
Image
As stated above, I cannot upgrade to latest Big Sur (11.1) because my snapshot is broken. I've done anything dortania guide still can't get it to work. So I just fresh-install it all together. I have to fix these cause it's pain in the arse to download 12gb every time update came out Everything works; even FaceTime and iMessage. I'm using 0.6.4 tho, been using my EFI since Catalina. I don't have time machine backup so I can't go back to APFS Snapshots as dortania guide told me to. I'm using this hack with Windows 10 in the same HDD, might be the issue? idk. never had these problem until Big Sur. I am growing weary of my 'magic' mini keyboard. I like the idea of a wireless, preferably USB, though Bluetooth would be ok. I loved my previous old Dell clanky wired, but now want to have that translated ...what would you recommend? submitted by /u/wingdingfingerling [link] [comments] [► Source]
Can't get Intel UHD 630 to work on Acer Predator Helios 300 (2020) | i7 10750H | Catalina 10.15.7

Checked WEG patching guide for Intel UHD 630 and tried everything, every framebuffer and device-id combination... Nothing can get me out of VESA mode (stuck to 7mb, glitchy graphics, no acceleration, without VESA I get stuck in IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0). VESA (using boot argument igfxvesa) is the only way I've been able to get to the desktop. I'm using OpenCore 0.64 and the latest versions of lilu and weg. Any suggestions? I've run out of ideas here. Kernel Panics after updating OC. Returned to backup still the same.

Hardware: CPU: Ryzen5 3600X GPU: Sapphire RX570 OC+ RAM: Mushkin Redline 2x8 3200Mhz Motherboard/Laptop model: Asrock B450 Gaming ITX/ac What guide/tool followed: Dortania.github.io Hi everyone. I was using my computer with opencore 0.5.7 and Mojave 10.14.6 with no issues at all. Last week I've decided to update opencore to 0.6.4. I've copied my ACPI folder directly from my 0.5.7 installation. Then following Dortania's guide I've built OC EFI folder from scratch with the help of propertree. After the installation of Mojave, I've started to get kernel panic. I removed all my peripherals. There is only keyboard and mouse(Logitech wireless) but I am still gettin kernel panics randomly. I just realized that when I push my processor hard(running prime95 etc.) I get kernel panics. Then I decided to return to my old EFI folder. I've copied it from backup. Reset NVRAM but still I am getting panics. For the last attempt I've reinstalled Mojave from scratch...

Mac OS X Lion fails to boot on Dell Vostro 1720
Image
Hi /r/hackintosh , I'm trying to boot Mac OS X Lion on a Dell Vostro 1720, with not much success. OpenCore loads succesfully - for some reason I do not have keyboard control despite installing the PS2 EFI drivers, but this is not an issue, as it automatically starts to load the Mac OS X installer. My screen goes black, and the light on my USB stick blinks for 30 seconds to a minute. After 30s-1m, I start to get text on the screen, indicating a boot failure: OCMCO: UNIX Thread and Main LCs are unsupported OCMCO: UNIX Thread and Main LCs are unsupported Loading kernel cache file 'System\Library\Caches\com.apple.kext.caches\Startup\kernelcache'... Can someone help me create an SSDT file?
Image
Hello, I'm a newbie and I need help fixing an issue. I can't boot my system with my own DSDT file. (Original one gives 2 errors and somebody from here cleaned that DSDT file but still I cannot boot with that file as well.) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YQC_KZHBIi_8eDS5Hlbxj6tV6d521o2V/view?usp=sharing All I need is to fix my keyboard backlighting and fn keys probably. I've used a similar computer's fn key fixes and it's kind of working but I may need a clean one. Since that one doesn't include a keyboard backlight fix I cannot test those buttons. Let's assume that I didn't use that file and I'll be in need of fn f3 f4 f5 f6 f7 and f9 fixes on top of backlight fix. I could attach that SSDT file if necessary. The notebook is an Asus N550JV. Haswell kbl patch should work. PS. If you have a nice video that explains how to edit and fix errors in DSDT then create an SSDT off of that, be great. I suck at reading I think since I struggle this muc...

[SOLVED] Usb hub / keyboard disconnecting on log in. Needs to be unplugged and replugged.
Image
I have a usb 2.0 keyboard with two usb ports. It shows itself to the operating system as a usb hub with the keyboard just plugged into to one of the usb ports on this hub (hub vendor: TERMINUS TECHNOLOGY INC., keyboard: SONiX). I could type my password at the log in screen but when macos loads, the keyboard will cut out. I tried mapping the usb ports using corpnewt's tool and a few other things but nothing has worked so far. The keyboard will work, however, if I unplug and then plug it back it. This lasts after sleeping but not after logging out (need to unplug and plug again). To solve this problem I wrote a script that waits a bit then reenumerates the usb keyboard using apple's USB prober tool (see link). It's a hacky solution but it works, is completely invisible and only needs to be performed on reset / login once. Stack exchange link with link to tool: https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/321009 I hope this helps someone. It caused me a lot of grief. submitted...
Issues with MIDI Bluetooth.
Image
Hi, I hope somebody will be able to help me figure out this obnoxious bug.I've been using a Trust Bluetooth 4.0 adapter for years ( https://www.trust.com/en/product/18187-manga-bluetooth-4-0-adapter ): it's natively recognised by Mac OS, can be updated through the Brcm kext and works quite well (aside for its limited range) with any device, ranging from Apple's Magic mouse and keyboard to phones. The only device that refuses to work is my Yamaha MD-BT01. It's a bluetooth Midi adapter: you simply connect it to any keyboard's midi ports and it enables bluetooth communication with your DAW or softsynth. The issue is, whilst it connects flawlessly with iOS devices, it has stopped connecting with Mac OS, and it's been this way for a couple years already. More specifically, when I open Mac's MIDI Audio configuration app, then Bluetooth Configuration, my Yamaha adapter's revealed, but if I attempt to click on Connect, Mac tries for a few seconds and then sto...
Looking for recommendations for a stronger bluetooth connection

I have a ABWB-050815 PCI-E Adapter, <1m from my keyboard and trackpad (under the desk) but as soon as I connect BT headphones they become laggy, and the sound choppy. I'm wondering if a more powerful adapter/antenna combo could fix this (and maybe also increase the range a bit)? If so, what to do you guys recommend? submitted by /u/competetowin [link] [comments] [► Source]
near perfect opencore build--could use some help/suggestions

the build is... mobo: b450m ds3h cpu: ryzen 3 2200g gpu: rx 570 efi: https://gofile.io/d/DnT4Ln damn near everything is working great besides wake/sleep and some usb problems. it will go to sleep fine but it usually takes smacking the space bar a couple/few times before it decides to wake up. and when it does wake up, usb devices are unmounted--but usb mouse and keyboard seem to be fine? could it be bios settings possibly? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks! submitted by /u/hughdunno [link] [comments] [► Source]
Bluetooth not working after boot
Image
I’ve got a very weird bug with my build. I’m using an ASRock Deskmini 310W with Intel Core i5 8500 with 2x8gb Ram. For WiFi/BT I’m using a BCM943602CS card with one of these adapters https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BCM94360CD-BCM94360CS2-BCM943224PCIEBT2-Card-To-M-2-Key-A-E-Cable-For-Mac-OS/202816949410 So here’s the issue. The magic keyboard and trackpad are paired and start working as soon as I boot up. It works in the BIOS and also works fine at the Keyvault password screen. Once I enter the password and the OS show up (after the Apple logo) the keyboard and trackpad stop working at all. Sometime they connect for a brief moment after a few minutes but then disconnect immediately. I’m not using any Airport or Brcm kexts as this is an Apple card and in the odd occasions where the bluetooth ends up working after log in, it stays connected without any issues until I reboot. I also have proper USB maps in place where I’ve marked the Airport card as internal. Anyone have any pointers on w...
