I've installed Sequoia 15.4 on my Mac mini late 2012 and I found it runs quite hot with fans spinning up when I'm opening a new webpage (Safari) or an app (like Signal). Is it an expected behavior considering the age of the hardware? I am okay with it as long as it is normal!
I picked up an ipad air M1 and wanted to try some of the newer features on my 2015 MBP such as universal control. I went through the Githubs and forums and I could NEVER get it to work. It was driving me crazy! It wasn't until I logged out and logged back in on my apple account that it finally worked! Just FYI for anyone else struggling to get this to work. The iPAD makes a great second screen with universal control! Sidecar is very choppy on my 2015 MBP
Hey, I’ve been using my 2013 iMac to play the Sims 4 and has been running decently good with sequoia. The thing is that when I tried to play on its last supported os(catalina) i realized it runs vastly better.
I understand Sequoia is still in development for oclp, and so I was wondering: is there any other os further than Catalina which could give me the same running?
Im Asking because I’m pretty sure there’s like a patch for the graphics and all that, maybe in previous ones it will still be running natively in terms of graphics.

So i have a mid 2011 15 in macbook pro that I've patched to run the newest version of sequoia and i want to swap out the 2011 motherboard for a 2012 so i wont need to worry about the graphics card destroying itself Does anymore thing i would run into any issues if i just do the swap and scan for the new patchers?

I was able to get sequoia installed on an iMac from mid 2010. Runs great for everything except I'm having trouble using any of the screen sharing abilities for All formats (FaceTime, ZOOM, Google Meet). Any tips out there?
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AWDL, Continuity and Location Services problems usually come from chipset support, kext pairing, privacy settings or network-location corruption. On Hackintosh systems, Location Services and Continuity depend on working Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AWDL and correct AirportItlwm or itlwm/HeliPort behaviour.
Hello, so I wanted to upgrade my Macbook air model a1370 to Sonoma while it was operating on sierra. I downloaded OCPL and created the installer until i was told i have to be at least high sierra to install sonoma. So I upgraded my mac to high sierra successfully except that my wifi isnt working anymore, turned on still not finding any or my old networks. So my plan is to upgrade it to sonoma before fixing the wifi issue. Can anyone help me how I may download sonoma? I have a windows computer with working wifi as well and a usb stick. Thanks a, lot keep in mind im still a rookie who doesnt know much about macOS.

But I would like some feedback about upgrading my system. The least complicated the more I will be able to understand the process.
Hello everyone, can I help something? I went on my MBP 2014 in a safe mode, left it, and when starting, the MacOS launch icon through OCLP disappeared. Now the laptop freezes to 30% of the system load. Is it possible to somehow restore EFI or at least save all the data that is stored on it for pure reinstallation?

I’m using macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 on a 2016 MacBook Pro with OpenCore. When I try to mirror my iPhone to the Mac, it sends the pop-up to my phone, I enter the passcode, and then I get a message saying “Unable to Connect to iPhone.”
Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on. Has anyone gotten iPhone mirroring to work with OpenCore on an older Mac like this? Any tips?

Good day yall! I'm using MacBook Air early 2015, which I updated to Sonoma 14.7.5 through opencore, and everything was fine
Though today I tried to open a screenshot from main screen, and the app preview just froze. Then I restarted the Mac and now it's lagging like sh8t... the dock is black and with the strange white border, like everything's corrupted, though I didn't change everything and processes don't eat cpu

Has anyone had success using Legacy Patcher to get one of these machines passed High Sierra?
MBP Late 2011 17inch w/ 2.4 i7 8GB Ram 500GB SSD. Runs like a top on High Sierra, don't mind running a classic machine for simple tasks, but am interested in taking it up a notch, maxing RAM out to 16GB and running a more modern OS.
It's specifically left out of the supported devices. The early 2011 17in model is listed as supported, but not the late 2011 model, any insight to the difference here?

So when the computer needs to restart and I need to hold down option button nothing happens, ill hold down option the entire time ans nothing will happen, does anyone know how to fix this ?

Hi, I own a late 2013 iMac 21” and have successfully used OCLP to upgrade that to Sequoia.
However, I am now trying to upgrade a 27 inch 2012 iMac, but every-time I click on “EFI boot” when using an OCLP installer usb, and then “Install MacOS Sequoia, the I see the apple logo with a progress bar which then goes into Mac recovery mode. I am unable to choose the disk to actually install from.
I have tried this with multiple different USB sticks, and even made installers of Ventura and Sonoma as well, but same end result. The iMac has an Nvidia GTX 680 and 32GB ram. Have been at this for almost 8 hours now, if anyone has any ideas as to what may be causing it or how I could get it to work I would be endlessly grateful. TIA!
Installed Sonoma on a MacPro 4.1 (Early 2009) - everthing looks good. Today when I was configuring update in the system setting the system stopped for some time until I finally was able to quit system settings. After a reboot the system behaves very strange - during startup the sonoma landscape increased brightness in slow steps. After startup the desktop was in white with very bad readability / poor contrast (instead of the sonoma landscape shown before) and reacts slow and stuttering to mouse movements. It was impossible to change display settings. The system is nearly not usable anymore.
I had this issue before - tried to reinstall the system using the same installer stick I used to do the first install but get an error message that the system is newer than the installer. Then used Carbon Copy Cloner to transfer the SSD to another one, but the copy does not start. But on the copy I was able to reinstall the system using the same installer stick and install Open Core Patcher again and got it working untill todays problem occured again.
My question - does anybody observed similar issues ? Any Idea to avoid that ? A better fix instead of CCC / reinstall .. ? Already tried the usual things like resetting PRAM ..

So I bought a Mid 2015 i7 MBP and went through the OCLP up to Sonoma 14.7.5 and everything was great for a few weeks until this morning.
The system is really sluggish and not doing simple things like displaying the wallpaper.
It is also saying I can take the OTA update to Sequoia.

Just upgraded my mac os to sequoia using opencore on my 2015 macbook pro. Im using a 1tb ssd to dualboot macos and linux. It usually works fine, but other times it refuses to load and just stays stuck on the loading screen. any help would be great.
Installed Sonoma On OCLP and also installed all patches it worked a couple of days running smooth, but one day I opened my macbook and it started to be really slow.

Current situation: I had my internal disk with a GUID partition map, with 3 partitions: APFS for MacOS, NTFS for WIndows, and an Unknown 3rd partition of 471.9 MB (I guess this is the EFI partitions). Until I installed OCLP, i had MacOS and Windows in the boot menu when holding down the Options key at boot. After I installed OCLP and asked it to install itself on the internal disk, I now only have "Windows" as a label, which is actually the MacOS via OCLP (see above link) and no separate actual Windows, so I can't boot into Windows any more.
Can a kind soul please outline some ELI5 steps to fix all this such that:
- I can boot without any USB drive (install OCLP on the internal disk)
- I get both MacOS and Windows in the boot menu via the Option key (and so I can actually boot into either MacOS or Windows)
- Make the MacOS entry the default so I don't need to press the Option key.
I understand I need to uninstall OCLP and create a separate EFI partition for it ... but given I have no free partition space on the disk, it would mean somehow shrinking the existing EFI partition (preferably? rather than shrinking the Windows one before it) in order to make room for an extra partition, then create a new partition and install there.

I’ve already installed Sequoia on 500gb SSD, it has a core 2 duo and 4gb of ram (looking for buying 16gb (8x2) 1066mhz (trying for the forth time)… What more should I do to improve performance?
I was considering getting an olde 2009 MacBook for my dad then using opencore to update it a little bit. What is the performance like with Monterey or Ventura on those devices, if they work at all?
Seems too obvious to be an unfixed Sonoma Preview problem but I can't see how it is an OCLP problem either.
Mount an external drive with 3 partitions on it, use Preview to view files which are then closed. I can't unmount one of the partitions, no error message, one time the driver icon vanished, other times it just stays there.
Using lsof on the command line (sudo lsof /Volumes/MyVolume) shows a list of files kept open by Preview (the files were not open or visible). Closing and reopening Preview allows my drive to be cleanly unmounted.
I’m not sure, but it feels much slower compared to High Sierra. Is there any way to optimize it? Or are there any settings I can tweak? I’d really appreciate your help.

When the upgrade (Seqouia 15.4.2)was in progress, OCLP didn’t suggest nor advise an update to its software (OCLP). Now eversince the upgrade, this happens. Ok so using open core to install sanoma on my old 2013 MacBook Pro. Fix all the issues I had with it. Put a ssd on it to make it even faster and usable. But no one tells you if you go a step further and also start running windows on it through boot camp. It becomes as fast and as snappy as a new pc wow. Windows 10 runs perfectly and faster that my Mac OS
