Creating a Working OCLP Installer from a Windows PC
The 'OS is damaged' error usually means the system clock is wrong or the USB was created incorrectly. Since you only have a Windows laptop, follow this specific path.
The Solution:
- Fix the Date: In the Mac's Recovery Mode, open Terminal and type
date 010112002024. An incorrect date makes macOS think the installer certificates are expired/damaged. - USB Creation: Use Rufus or Etcher on Windows to flash the macOS .dmg, but be warned: this often fails. The best way is to use a TransMac trial to properly format the GPT partition for Mac.
- Recovery: If all else fails, use Internet Recovery (Cmd+Opt+R) to install the original OS (Catalina), then build the OCLP installer from within macOS.
