2016 MacBook Pro – internal keyboard dead after clean Monterey reinstall (trackpad & Touch Bar OK, EFI cleaned, NVRAM reset)

Hi all, looking for help with a stubborn keyboard issue on a 2016 13” MacBook Pro.

• Internal keyboard does not work anywhere: macOS, login screen, Recovery, or boot picker.

• Trackpad and Touch Bar work normally, as well as the backlight for the keyboard.

• External USB keyboard works fine.

• System Information shows “Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad” (so it’s detected), but no keypresses register and Caps Lock never lights up.

• This Mac previously had OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) installed.

• I wiped the internal SSD and did a clean install of macOS Monterey from a USB installer.

• Removed all the old OCLP directories.

• After all that, the internal keyboard is still completely non‑functional.

Is this laptop screwed? Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, TIA
