Keyboard/trackpad stopped working during Sequoia install – OpenCore not found after installation (MBP Early 2015)

Hi everyone,

I’m installing macOS Sequoia on a MacBook Pro Early 2015 using OpenCore Legacy Patcher, and I’m not sure if something went wrong during the process.

During the installation, the internal keyboard and trackpad stopped working, so I had to connect an external USB keyboard and mouse using a USB hub in order to continue. I performed a clean installation of macOS Sequoia. When I reached the initial setup screen (as if the Mac were new from factory, where you enter language, Apple ID, etc.), Wi-Fi was not detected at all, but the installation still completed and let me finish the setup offline. Once I reached the Sequoia desktop, I went to check Applications to run OpenCore Legacy Patcher, but OpenCore was not there.

At this point:

  • I can boot into Sequoia
  • Wi-Fi does not work
  • Internal keyboard and trackpad do not work
  • OpenCore does not appear to be installed

My question is:

What should I do next to properly install OpenCore and apply the post-install patches? Did I miss a required step during installation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
