I've heard of this happening but this is the first time it's happened to me so I'd appreciate any input:
- got a 13" 2013 MacBook Pro (MBP11,1);
- fans were blasting at full speed and it was kinda laggy. Didn't show any serial number or Mac year in the About view but I thought it was a bug
- upgraded to highest official OS (Big Sur) and still wasn't seeing serial info. Fans still blasting. Booted into Diagnostics and it said missing serial number;
- I used the Boot flashing tool from Mac Repository I think I is to see the serial number to what is on the bottom of the Mac (after confirming that serial number corresponded to the specs);
- serial number works yay but still blasting fans;
- upgraded to Sonoma via OCLP and checked Disable Firmware Throttling in OpenCore but fans still blast;
- logged in to iCloud but iMessage and FaceTime werent working (no errors, just couldn't make/send or receive calls or messages);
- tried the SMBIOS spoofing in OCLP using the serial number and the logic board serial number, but then iMessage and FaceTime wouldn't log in;
- I tried to generate a random serial number combo but same problem with iMessage and FaceTime but now iCloud won't log in either
Any suggestions? Worst comes to worst can I just revert to Big Sur?
