Macpro 6,1: alt/option key doesn’t work on reboot,

Macpro 6,1 is on Monterey, when I run OCLP for Sequoia, and created an EFI, I’m not able to reboot with the option/alt key pressed down. It just boots right back up to Monterey and I lose the EFI created
