Heya, sorry if this has been asked before. I’m trying to breathe new life into my 2012 MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch, 2.6GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 768GB SSD.
I did a full wipe of the hard drive recently and Recovery mode reinstalled OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5, which I imagine the machine shipped with.
Can I upgrade straight to Sequoia from a USB or will I have to go up in increments? Some else in a different thread said:
Upgrade from Mountain Lion to El Capitan.
Upgrade from El Capitan to High Sierra.
Upgrade from High Sierra to Catalina.
Make sure Catalina is fully updated, including all Security Updates.
Use the latest version of OCLP to upgrade to Ventura, then install all OCLP patches and macOS updates.
Use the latest version of OCLP to upgrade to Sequoia, then install all OCLP patches.
But that guy was trying to install a Sequoia Beta and got an error message. Just wondering how necessary the above is or if I can save time? Thanks in advance!
