Have i bricked my macbook?

I am using 2017 macbook. I rarely use it and i did OCLP long back to update from monterey to ventura. As i rearely use i dont update it too often.

Today i updated it got updated to tahoe and i saw all the problems it started to cause and i cannot login because it was not accepting my password.

i come to this reddit and learned what big mistake i did, I didnt knew mac has turned on the automatic update and tahoe has a lot of problems with OCLP.

So i read the threads here and i went to recovery mode and reinstalled monterey.

It installed old version of monterey and it had old safari and everything. I did not any OCLP this time. it asked to update monterey and safari. So i did (it downloaded about 2-3 gbs of data).

Now again i am getting the problem login in with password. i tried to change my password. but it is not even accepting new password.

Stragenly the recovery mode (command+r) accepts the new passwords and allows me to format and reinstall monterey again.

I cannot go to internet recovery mode anylonger (r key).

the normal login screen is also fully backed out ie it does not show the background image in login screen.

What can i do now?
