So I installed Sequoia via OCLP last Thursday and have been playing around trying to check all the new features since Monterey. (Same SSD than pre-existing Monterey installation, but on a new partition)
I had been using Messages, synced with my iPhone with no problem.
During the weekend, I wanted to try sidecar (not working well) and Airplay to Mac (this is a feature I'd like to keep), so I spoofed MacbookPro15,2 and enabled FeatureUnlock, and was able to try those features out.
However I noticed that the Messages had stopped syncing.
- I tried manually going to configuration->iCloud->Messages->Sync now
- It did not work, Messages app was constantly non-responsive and temps were reaching over 100ºC, fan blowing constantly.
So I decided that I could do a fresh install, because at that I did not have anything important. However, I have tried several things and still can't get it to work, now I'm stuck when I open the Messages app it asks me to log in, I log in, and after a couple of second the app closes.
I've tried:
- Fresh install, set up as new laptop.
- Reset NVRAM with Option + Command + P + R at boot.
- Fresh install, set up with iPhone.
- Disable Use Messages in this Mac and the enable it.
- Apply root patch after this last install.
After all that I still have not been able to get it to work as it was working before.
Has this happened to anyone? I can't find a clear fix for this.
TL:DR: Messages was working fine on MBP 13 early 2015 after installing Sequoia. Did Moderate spoofing to MacbookPro 15,2 and Enabled FeatureUnlock to try SideCar and Airplay to Mac. Messages is no longer working, even after various fresh installs, NVRAM reset...
