Disable spotlight?

trying to squeeze every bit of performance out of my 2015 MacBook pro 8gb ram currently running Sequoia. I seen on another post someone said to disable spotlight but didn't tell how to. how do you disable spotlight I really don't use it anyway I don't have a bunch of files or anything I just use my Mac for browsing and work and that's all online. so will disabling spotlight give me performance benefits? sequoia is a little sluggish but I know that's expected I've tweaked settings already like reduce transparency, reduce motion,etc any other tips or advice I'd appreciate. and the MacBook already came with an upgraded SSD
