Hi, I have a MacBook Pro Mid 2014 (13-inch, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD).
Main issue: Mac boots → Apple logo → progress bar starts → then shuts off / reboots Stuck in boot loop Safe Mode does NOT work Recovery Mode crashes Internet Recovery also fails Apple Diagnostics shows ADP000 (no issues found)
Important weird behavior: The Mac ONLY boots properly when an SD card is inserted It works even if the SD card is completely empty / no macOS installed If SD card is removed, it will fail to boot again or go into boot loop
Other info: It has OpenCore Legacy Patcher Internal SSD is still present and detected No physical damage or overheating signs
What I’ve tried: Safe Mode Apple Diagnostics Internet Recovery (Option + Command + R)
Questions: Is this an EFI/boot chain issue? Could this be firmware, SD card reader dependency, or logic board issue? Why would inserting an SD card affect boot stability? Any way to reinstall macOS if all recovery options fail?
