Fixing Keyboard A1243 Functionality on macOS Ventura
Issues with the Apple Wired Keyboard A1243 on older iMacs running Ventura are often related to USB 1.1 stack changes in newer macOS versions.
Recommended Fixes:
- USB Hub: Try connecting the keyboard through a powered USB 2.0 or 3.0 hub instead of directly to the Mac.
- Root Patches: Ensure you have applied the Post-Install Root Patches in OCLP, as these include legacy USB drivers.
- Reset NVRAM: Restart your Mac and hold
Cmd + Opt + P + Rto reset the NVRAM, which can sometimes clear peripheral driver conflicts. - Check Accessibility Settings: Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and ensure "Slow Keys" is turned off.

Its an excellent keyboard, but the front numbers row as well as some other keys doesnt work. It is for sure a driver issue, not mechanical.
I suspect it is related to OCLP, but it *might* also be usual lazyness of apple to update drivers rendering equipment obsolete (like they did with the original bluetooth keyboard when they cut support on early bluetooth protocols).
Its sad because A1243 is also a USB hub and it has more space for keys than the smaller A1314 that i use now.
Any ideas of a fix would be appreciated!
