Bypassing Compatibility Checks on 32-Bit Intel Macs
The 2006 Mac Mini with a Core Solo or Core Duo (32-bit) is officially capped at Snow Leopard. Booting the 10.7 Lion Developer Preview requires a 64-bit CPU 'spoof'.
The Solution:
- CPU Upgrade: The best fix is to swap the T2300/T2400 for a Core 2 Duo T7200 or T7600. This gives you native 64-bit support.
- The Hack: If you must stay on 32-bit, you need to modify the
OSInstall.mpkgandDistributionfiles inside the installer to remove thehw.modelandcpu-typechecks. - PlatformSupport: In the early 10.7 previews, the check was often embedded in the boot.efi itself.

Has anyone booted the first Developer Preview of 10.7? I got the installer booted but it says that my Mac isnt compatible, the limit must be in the pkgs, bc theres no PlatformSupport.plist anywhere. If anyone has a while to help me i would be super thankful.
