Resolving 'Account-Specific' AirDrop Failures in macOS Tahoe
If your DW1560 Wi-Fi card works for AirDrop with one Apple ID but not another, the issue is a Keychain or iCloud Handshake corruption.
The Fix:
- Sign Out of iCloud: On the Tahoe machine, sign out completely and choose 'Delete from Mac' for all data (ensure it's backed up).
- Reset Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Plists: Delete
com.apple.Bluetooth.plistandpreferences.plistfrom/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration. - Re-sign In: Reboot and sign back in. This forces macOS to re-generate the Handoff/Continuity keys in the Secure Enclave (spoofed by OpenCore).
Original Question: "AirDrop works weird(DW1560, 26.5)"
AirDrop works weird(DW1560, 26.5)
I built a Tahoe system a couple of days ago and successfully patched the drivers. Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are working properly.
However, I found that neither AirDrop nor Handoff works. My iPhone and the Tahoe machine cannot discover each other.
I came across another user with the same issue, who reported that AirDrop only works when signed out of their Apple account. I tested this on my setup and observed the exact same behavior: when signed out, both devices can see each other and AirDrop transfers complete successfully.
I then signed in with a different Apple ID on the Tahoe machine, and surprisingly both AirDrop and Handoff worked normally again.
So the issue appears to be related to a specific Apple account rather than Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or the hardware configuration itself.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem or found a solution?
