How to Set Up Radeon Pro WX 5100 and Intel i5-6500 on Hackintosh (Sonoma/Sequoia)

Setting Up Radeon Pro WX 5100 and Intel Skylake (i5-6500) on macOS

The Radeon Pro WX 5100 (Polaris architecture) is natively supported in macOS. However, the Intel i5-6500 (Skylake) requires CPU spoofing or OpenCore legacy patches for newer macOS releases.

How to make it work:

  1. GPU Compatibility: The WX 5100 works out of the box in macOS Sonoma and Sequoia using native Polaris drivers. No additional GPU kexts are needed.
  2. CPU Spoofing: Since Skylake is unsupported, configure your config.plist to spoof your CPU ID to Kabylake (0x0506E3 or similar) under the Kernel → Emulate section.
  3. Add Essential Kexts: Ensure Lilu, VirtualSMC, and WhateverGreen are loaded.
  4. SMBIOS Selection: Use a compatible SMBIOS such as iMac18,1 or iMac18,3 (Kabylake generation) instead of iMac17,1.

Original Question: "wx5100"

wx5100

has anyone tried i5 6500 with radeon pro wx5100 in newer macos or will it work with cpu spoof and smooth and run smoothly?
