| First of all, it has been incredible so far. Just followed the guide on the website and it worked like a charm. Chose Ventura (13.7.8) cause it seemed like the latest one that would be most stable & least sluggish on my old hardware while being able to run software that no longer support Catalina. Currently have a dual boot with my Catalina install. I appreciate help with the following questions for now. 1) Is it safe to log in with my apple account (and enter other credentials in general, for example spotify app)? This is not considering any other software or non secure website. Just purely in terms of the modified OS. Will my credentials be safe? 2) I ofc will not install major OS updates offered through MacOS's own software update, but can I install app updates like Safari updates offered through it? Can I install other security updates? 3) With this macbook pro, can I enable FileVault/encryption? I saw the website had some stuff indicating that it is supported by OCLP but not sure if I can on my device? If so, is following that instructions enough? 4) Current SIP setting according to the patcher app is the SIP lowered default below. I have not changed anything. Is it possible for my model to go to the SIP Enabled state? 5) As you understand, so far im still testing out. no logins. no other stuff. im gonna browse around and see how it feels . Here I have 2 sub question. If I like it, i) Can I upgrade my catalina installation (currently apple macOS version w/ filevault/encryption enabled) instead? I will ofc delete the new OS partition I just created in that case. What would I have to do in that case. ii) I am also considering moving all of my files and deleting Catalina partition instead and marge that space to Ventura? Is that safe? Will I need to do anything afterwards to boot properly (like building and installing opencore to the disk again). Again, appreciate the help a lot. Thank you. [link] [comments] |
