The Dangers of Pre-Built EFI Folders

Asking for an EFI for your Ryzen 3200G is a common request, but using a folder from a stranger is the fastest way to brick your installation or compromise your security.

The Technical Risks:

  1. Hardware Mismatch: Even with the same CPU, different motherboards have different ACPI paths. A pre-built EFI will likely result in a 'Kernel Panic' before you even reach the installer.
  2. Malware Risk: EFIs can contain malicious kexts or drivers that act as keyloggers or backdoors at the kernel level.
  3. The Correct Path: Use the Dortania OpenCore Guide for AMD Zen. It will take you ~3 hours, but you will have a stable, secure system tailored to your specific hardware.
