Fixing Missing Graphics Patches on iMac 2012 in macOS Sequoia
Older metal GPUs, such as the NVIDIA Kepler GT 640M/650M in the 2012 iMac, require specific patches under OCLP to enable graphics acceleration in macOS Sequoia.
How to Resolve the Issue:
- Update OCLP: Download the latest nightly or public release of OpenCore Legacy Patcher that explicitly supports macOS Sequoia Kepler patching.
- Check SIP Status: Open Terminal and type
csrutil status. SIP must be disabled. If it is enabled, boot into Recovery Mode, open Terminal, and runcsrutil disable. - Boot Args: Ensure you have the correct boot args in your config. OCLP requires AMFI adjustments, typically handled by OCLP automatically, or by adding
amfi=0x80if using custom setups. - Re-Run Patches: Open OCLP, click
Post-Install Root Patch, and clickStart Root Patchingto re-apply the graphics drivers.
Original Question: "Have a iMac 2012 year (13,1) graphic patch on MacOS Sequoia?"
I have just installed macOS 15 Sequoia on my 2012 Mac, but in OpenCore I only see the internet patch and no graphics patch. Does a graphics patch even exist for this Mac model? (btw, everything works fine on macOS Sonoma and all patches are available there.)

⚠️ WARNING:
Installing macOS Tahoe on unsupported hardware is NOT supported by the OpenCore Legacy Patcher developers. Please be aware that numerous users have attempted installation, often resulting in serious issues including hardware malfunctions and complete data loss.
Also understand that OCLP supports over 83 Mac models! Just because it "worked" on one, does not mean it will not cause major issues on your device.
NOTE: You might have seen a new piece of software called OCLP-Mod. The OCLP developers do NOT recommend using any modification of the genuine OCLP software. Keep in mind, anyone is able to make a fork of OCLP (a fork is a modification of the original project). No other software is checked and verified safe or actually working on all 83 Mac models.
In closing, please only use the genuine version of OCLP. Do not install Tahoe until a fully compatible public version of OCLP is released. Thanks!
