Maximizing the Dual-GPU Architecture for Multi-Monitor Setup
The 2013 Mac Pro is designed to handle up to 6 displays, but setting up dual monitors on macOS Sequoia via OCLP requires correct bus allocation.
Step-by-Step Setup:
- Thunderbolt Bus Balancing: Do not plug both monitors into the same vertical stack of ports. Each stack shares a bus. Plug one monitor into the top-left port and the other into the bottom-right port to balance the load across both AMD FirePro GPUs.
- HDMI + Thunderbolt: If using one HDMI monitor, it shares a bus with the bottom Thunderbolt ports. Use the top ports for your second monitor.
- Resolution Fix: If one monitor is blurry, go to System Settings > Displays > Advanced and click 'Show all resolutions'. Select the native resolution for your panel.
