How to Fix 'No GPU Patch' for Tahoe on MacBook Air 2017

Enabling Graphics Acceleration in Experimental Tahoe

If you've installed macOS Tahoe on your 2017 MacBook Air and the 'Post-Install Root Patch' button is greyed out, it's because the Intel HD 6000 drivers are not yet integrated into the stable OCLP release.

The Workaround:

  1. OCLP Nightly: You must use the 'Nightly' or 'Development' branch of OCLP. These versions contain the early work for Tahoe graphics.
  2. SIP Settings: Ensure System Integrity Protection (SIP) is fully disabled (0x03) in the OCLP settings, or the patcher won't even attempt to show the Tahoe options.
  3. Warning: Without graphics acceleration, Tahoe will be extremely slow. If the nightly patcher doesn't work, your best option is to revert to Sequoia and wait for a stable OCLP update.
