migrate from vmware to kvm?

currently using patched vmware to run highsierra on ubuntu host on intel cpu.

can I migrate this installation to the new kvm method, or will i have to reinstall from scratch?

the storage is a raw block device, not a vmdk, so that is not going to be a problem (even if it was vmdk, qemu-img would convert it anyway) - but what about the other dancing stuff around the vm like ovmf and efi etc?
