High Sierra not booting after any Security Update
Image
Hi everyone, recently I installed High Sierra via OpenCore. Everything boots, successful install, EFI on drive, but when I try to install a security update, selecting macOS from the OpenCore boot picker just sends me back to the picker. 🥲 I reinstalled (Third time) and don’t want to have it happen again. Any tips on why it’s not booting? Vesa mode is on, and it’s not just a black screen, it sends me back to the picker. Currently I’m on version 10.13.16 (17G66), and in order to install Nvidia Web drivers, I need to be on a higher version. My goal is to be on the latest. Thanks! OpenCore 0.66 Specs: Ryzen 7 2700x (Yes i installed patches) Aorus X470 Gaming 5 WiFi 32gb DDR4 3200mhz ram Nvidia 1080ti (Let me know if you need the config.plist ;) submitted by /u/lucadenhez [link] [comments] [► Source]
Any disadvantages install High Sierra in 2021?
Image
Hello everyone, I'm new in this Hackintosh world so I apologize if this question is redundant or something like that. I'm already preparing myself to build my first hackintosh, and because of native GPU support (I have a gtx 970), I'm going to install High Sierra, but got those questions in mind because it's almost a legacy OS version. There's any disadvantages? I'm a software developer and content creator, so having a GPU will be very useful for rendering videos, and managing AVD in Android Studio, for example. And also, can I make xcode work even though I'm running and old macOs version? Also, those are by specs: Intel Core i5 4460 Asus H81M-CS/BR EVGA Nvidia GTX 970 SC 16GB Ram DDR3 1600MHz Thanks submitted by /u/jvbs_ [link] [comments] [► Source]

Mac OS High Sierra Kernel Panic (Opencore 0.6.7)
Image
I’m trying to install Mac OS High Sierra using open core 0.6.7 Legacy on My HP Pavilion DV6 with an I7 2670QM and an Intel HD 3000, I have configured opencore using the instructions provided on the website including SSDT’s and making my config.plist and using only required Kexts and drivers, but I get a kernel panic I think related to the GPU. This is my first hackintosh so I’m not really sure what to do now any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks https://ibb.co/sq77ZqS Edit:added picture. submitted by /u/Raspytooth28 [link] [comments] [► Source]
No HDMI audio on 1080ti High Sierra
Image
Yesterday i installed Catalina for my first go at hackintoshing just to see if i could do it. So today i swapped some files around and went for High Sierra because i have a 1080ti and wanted to get the most out of my current hardware for now. Its installed, graphics acceleration thru nvidias web driver is golden. Its driving my 86" 4k tv. Everything seems to be in order except for the sound. No HDMI audio output, and i figured it would work no problem from the web driver but no dice. Asus maximus hero x mobo Intel 8700k running stock for now Evga Hybrid 1080ti Intel 240gb SSD for Mac, 500gb m.2 for my win 10 Just the normal .kexts needed.... applealc... virtual smc, lilu, whatevergreen. Anyone have this issue? Ive read upon a few fixes , but theyre years old and none of what i read actually pertained to a 1080ti... was usually a 1060 used, and i havent actually seen of anyone having a genuine fix for it. Info, if any, would be helpful. Thanks for reading! submitted by /u...

OC macrecovery.py files seem to be corrupt, stuck at language chooser with no options or mouse and keyboard.

9700k, ROG Strix z390i, 1080ti, 16gb ddr4 3600hz Trying to install High Sierra. Am using windows to create an online installer, macrecovery.py to download the files. have checked my folders and sanity checked my config.plist. Was using macrecovery file that was about 450mb, and it would go through the verbose and come up with "CPU halted" and just turn off. This is where I checked the folders and config multiple times and then decided to try redownloading the macrecovery files this time with a different URL, file was about 675mb. Now I get verbose, Apple logo and loading bar then to language chooser but with no window to display any options nor a mouse pointer and the keyboard doesn't work either. Not sure what to do, perhaps try another URL in macrecovery.py? With a different action? Like "-os" or something? The files seem to be the problem though as one works yet other doesn't, even tried just Sierra and had the CPU halted thing... This is far as I...
