Help needed for High Sierra install on Z97 D3H Motherboard (UEFI Weirdness)
Image
Greetings all My Macbook Pro died and lockdown means there's no repair options so I'm trying to get an old Hackintosh spun back up. It currently has Sierra installed and I'd like to install High Sierra which is the most recent OSX version which supports my GPU which is a Nvidia 1080ti. I have tried installing using Unibeast but have had issues with the boot menu even seeing the UEFI option on the USB stick I'm using. Other PC's and laptops around the house will see the clover EFI partition without issue but the PC will not, for some reason. I have been through the BIOS multiple times trying to figure out if there's something I need to change but apart from following the advice on AMI boards on TonyMac installer guides I'm a bit stumped. The strangest thing is that initially I had success making a USB stick boot to the Clover installer but whilst troubleshooting past the initial install process the stick stopped booting. Subsequent attempts at making a n...

I build Hackintoshs very often...from unibeast to clover to opencore now... although I'm not an expert, still went through so much...and I had built nearly the same Hackintoshs before without any issue... here is the spec: HP 280 G3 SFF: Motherboard: HP motherboardCPU: 8400iGPU: UHD630RAM: 32GBWIFI: AX2001 HDMI & 1 VGA (didn't use) Port Installed Big Sur already with fake platform ID 012345678. When i try to use 07009B3E or 00009B3E and framebuffer-patch, after some loading the screen gone black. Had researched on the internet and youtube, tried to use the hackintool to generate a proper PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) and patch connector type (don't really know if i do it right) Attached the OC folder in the link. Thanks so much for helping!!! https://www.dropbox.com/s/qvwwchfbimvlyhd/HP%20280%20G3%20SFF%20OC.zip?dl=0 submitted by /u/glasschan [link] [comments] [► Source]

OC 0.6.5 Big Sur Success, MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon, i9-9900k, RX580

Edited config.plist in xcode since I already had it installed in mojave/catalina previously installed via unibeast/clover. I started looking at OC Monday because one of the software updates for mojave wasn't happy with clover. Ultimately I made a new partition for Big Sur, put it there, and found that the clover install of Mojave wasn't happy booting with the OC 0.6.5 Big Sur Installer usb key, so from the OC 0.6.5 menu I picked the installer for Mojave to re-install that over the previous Clover install. Now both Mojave and Big Sur can be booted from OC 0.6.5... The install guide is very well written and had answers to all my questions ...
Howdy -- Installing macOS on my External HDD
Image
Hey there I am looking to install macOS Catalina on an external hard drive, that of which is not an SSD but rather a plain, old HDD. I found a guide that can be used to install the OS on a partition within an internal hard drive in my PC, but I need to do it on an external. The guide uses Unibeast and Multibeast -- https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/install-macos-pc-3632329/ Is it possible to use this method and create a bootable macOS system on my external drive, with Unibeast and all of that? The reason I would like to do this is that I would like to run Logic Pro X using the much more powerful system hardware on my PC as compared with my Macbook Pro, which frankly is not an optimal circumstance for doing that. The above guide does not specify whether or not you have the option to select an external drive to install the operating system onto. I'm also going to be using the external to install from, which I read in comments section for another reddit post is indeed possible by...

Catalina + B360M-A + Sapphire 5500XT Nitro+ keeps Rebooting. Not able to launch installer.

Good morning, I am opening this thread as I am now desperate. I think I've read all possible posts from Tonymacx86 and reddit but wasn't able to make it work... I decided to open a thread here as no one is helping in Tonymacx86 ... Hopefully the reddit community can.. Motherboard: Asus Prime B360M-A CPU: I5 9400F GPU: Sapphire RX 5500 XT Nitro+ Ram: Corsair Vengeance 2x8G I've followed "Unibeast" method to flash my 16GB Usb2.0 pendrive. I've tried different combinations of config.plist and kexts (USBInjectAll.kext, USBPorts.kext, ...). Most important parameter I understood I had to configure in the config.plist for the graphics was "agdpmod=pikera" which I did. But the system keeps rebooting when trying to launch clover...(see image attached) Tried different USB ports but all same... I bought specifically this 5500xt as it was referred as working in Catalina by community but I am starting to think it is maybe my motherboard? Belo...

Catalina fresh install - can't launch installer - Service exited with abnormal code: 1

I'm attempting to do a completely fresh install of Catalina using the latest version of UniBeast, and when I start up from the USB installer it does not finish launching. Here's what I get: Endpoint has been activated through legacy launch(3) APIs. Please switch to XPC or bootstrap_check_in(): com.apple.bsd.dlrhelper Service exited with abnormal code: 1 (More detail in the attachment) I have tried this with two different video cards (1070Ti & RX580), and the message is identical. https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/ Okay, truth be told, I struggled with TonyMac(Unibeast, Multibeast) and it hasn't worked at all. But OpenCore which seemed very difficult at the first glance worked smoothly. Honestly, it's not the most convenient tool but it's not difficult neihter. I just follow the instructions. and at the very first boot, Audio and DRM(Netflix I guess) work very well. Instant Reboot After "HID: Legacy shim 2"
Image
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-IMB370TN CPU: i5-8600T Graphics: GTX 1650 (But for now I'm using iGPU) Install Method: Unibeast This is my third build and probably my strangest. The motherboard I'm using is very unconventional, so I'm not finding any talk of hackintoshing it around the web. Anyway, I'm getting stuck at the verbose line "HID: Legacy shim 2," after which it instantly reboots. I actually had to use a slo-mo camera to figure out what it was spitting out just before reboot. It spits out 5 lines in row, then restarts. This all happens after it does about 30s-60s of other installation things that seem to be going fine. I could only capture the beginning of the first two lines because I had to get the camera close enough to where it was readable. Z490: High Sierra installer stuck at "end randomseed"
Image
Hello! I recently built a Z490 computer with the following specs: - Intel i7-10700 with an iGPU - MSI Z490-A PRO - 2x Corsair 8GB 3200Mhz RAM I created the High Sierra installer with Unibeast using the guide on tonymacx86, but when booting the installer from the USB, it gets stuck at "end randomseed+++++++". When booting the same USB on a H97 computer, it works fine and the install is successful. Things I've already tried: - Configuring BIOS according to MSI hackintosh guides online - Applying all the possible Aptio fixes separately - Applying the Free2000 fix - Shuffling RAM sticks around in the computer (Both in either As or Bs or one stick in either the first or the second slot) - The KALSR fix in the Dortania guide, got a slide value of 128, but didn't work. I read online that this is a memory problem, but none of the proposed fixes or .efi files seem to work. Has anyone had this problem on an MSI Z490 system, and if so, what was the fix? Any help would be gr...
Dell Inspiron 15 N5040 hackintosh: Good idea? Or no.
Image
So here’s the deal. I have a shizzy version of OS X Mavericks (Niresh) running for some experiments. Since I don’t have a Mac and I’m to lazy to wait till Christmas for a 2015 MacBook Air, I want to use Niresh (no internet) to get Unibeast, and OS X El Capitan over to the system to install. Hopefully having internet after that, I’ll make a vanilla open core hackintosh. Is this a hell yeeea, or a hell nooo. In the future I’ll call this “series” Dell Inspi~Mac You can recommend different series names if you want submitted by /u/XoneSogie720 [link] [comments] [► Source]
