Clover Linux Auto-boot
Image
I remember seeing a guide on here or on InsanelyMac about getting a custom entry (linux) to auto-boot in Clover. I followed it, and got it working by setting DefaultVolume to 25D1523C-2B7C-4B60-A0A1-CFF74D9806E6. I recently tried (and failed) to update to 5xxx using the .pkg, and ended up reformatting the ESP a couple of times. I copied the files back, so everything boots normally, but I've lost the auto-boot functionality. My problem is this: I simply can't find the thread, despite quote-searching google and relevant forums. I remember that the guide to do this was 7-8 steps, and the OP kept joking to how difficult it was to follow and what a niche case he had. I think you had to somehow get clover's internal (GU?)ID for the custom entry and put it in the DefaultVolume. Does anyone remember such a thread? Vanilla Clover Install of Catalina Fails (AppleUSBXHCI and AppleBusPowerController)
Image
I am looking for assistance with my Vanilla Clover install of Catalina. I am able to make it 70% through the Apple logo loader screen. I end up with "AppleUSBXHCI::interruptOccurred" and "AppleBusPowerController: AppleBusPowerController::requestStaticServicePowerLocked: power supply unavailable, assuming successful power for HS08 of 500 mWWakePower and 0 mWSleepPower". Much of the text ends up garbled. I am using Clover 5122 along with Clover Configurator. The Clover folder contains: [ACPI>Patched: SSDT-EC.aml] [Drivers>UEFI>: ApfsDriverLoader.efi, AptioMemoryFix.efi, AudioDxe.efi, DataHubDxe.efi, FSInject.efi, HFSPlus.efi, PartitionDxe.efi, VBoxHfs.efi] [kexts>Other: AppleALC.kext, FakeSMC.kext, Lilu.kext, USBInjectAll.kext, WhateverGreen.kext] The system identifier is set to iMac19,1. Service to convert from Clover to Opencore?
Image
Not sure if this question is allowed. After hours of bashing my hard against a wall trying to convert my Clover EFI to Opencore, now feeling rubbish because I've just had my covid vaccine is there a service that can do it for me. I think even if I pay I can still learn from it by reviewing what has been done. All the best, stay well, stay safe. Thanks, Will submitted by /u/Wjf79 [link] [comments] [► Source]
Clover boot menu theme help!!
Image
Good day. I just finished setting up my first hackintosh build (Windows + MacOS). However, I cant seem to change the theme of the boot menu using clover configurator. The current theme that it only displays is the black background with white text, akin to booting up clover from a bootable USB. Also, I do not see any options to boot my Windows OS from the boot menu. Thank you. Edit: My clover bootloader is 4330 and clover configurator is r4359. submitted by /u/mksay34 [link] [comments] [► Source]

AMD Radeon RX 550 - 560 injected with Opencore macOS Big Sur
Image
I have installed macOS Big Sur in a HP prodesk 400 G1 SSF. everything works for me, except the AMD Radeon RX 550 4GB graphics card, because I don't know how to inject into the OpenCore device properties section. When I was using Clover, it was easy because with fakepciid.kext was injecting the EDID + ati + radeonint + fake pci id ... but with OpenCore, I can't manage to inject these properties ... can someone help me? Greetings, just trying to get back into hackintosh and i was looking for clover and just noticed this open core so i am giving a try, i collected all kext and acpi prebuilt, now i am on the last part getting the config.plist done, has anybody go a similar working config.plist to give me a hand? just 2 hours of looking to config and i am overwhelmed, it may take some days, or i will have to come back to clover. first issues are that i have some missing parts like boot, is not as simple to get a prebuilt config.plist ? Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/henser [link] [comments] [► Source]

I always wanted to use macOS but I couldn't afford real Macs (well at least until my somewhat recent purchase of a MacBook Air). I didn't build my PC around Hackintoshing but I guess I was lucky that my part selection was (mostly) compatible. Anyway, for most of my time in the Hackintosh scene, I used Beast tools and Clover to install macOS Catalina and didn't give much extra thought about it. For a while, Beast tools and Clover worked sort of well. Everything ran at a good speed, somehow iMessage worked, etc. What didn't work was updating macOS using combo updates or system preferences, I had to use the app store and download the whole installer! There were also weird quirks such as graphical artifacts. When I updated Clover to r5123, it couldn't boot because I didn'...

Been a while for me, so I had a bit catching up to do.  I also had a great time warming up with my desk...
Guide: Multibooting UEFI on Separate Drives
Image
MultiBooting Win10, OS X and Ubuntu on separate drives is as simple a procedure as installing all 3 on the same drive and booting  them with Clover ( See  http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-multibooting-uefi.197352/  ). What you need: 3 HDDs or SSDs or some combination of the two. Your installation USBs: some time and patience. For this guide, there is no need to give detailed installation instructions for OS X - this guide already exists. Due to the way I install the boot files for Linux, I need to install OS X before installing Ubuntu. You can install either OS X or Win10 first. I chose to do Win10 first. The only special thing you need to do for Win10 is create the EFI partition as the first partition on the drive and format the drive GPT partition tables. This is easiest to do with the OS X Disk Utility, but it can be done from an elevated command window at the Win10 installer screen with diskpart. If you do not know how to do it with diskpart I suggest you do it...
