Dual boot and Optimus DSDT issues
Image
I've purchased a Lenovo laptop that contains a GTX 1650. I intend to dual boot OS X with Windows, but still want access to the 1650 whilst in Windows. Am I right in thinking the opencore dGPU disable DSDT will disable the dGPU in windows too? Is there any easy way around this. I guess worst case I can skip the opencore bootloader directly booting to windows but this isn't ideal. Many thanks submitted by /u/DMKitsch [link] [comments] [► Source]

Almost works Lenovo Thinkpad T430 with MacOS Mojave - no sleep (OC)
Image
TL;DR: Sleep not working properly. Questions below about what to do Recently installed MacOS Mojave, and enjoying it - however, still facing significant problems in getting sleep, audio, and battery working. Sleep is the main focus to fix as without sleep, it will be difficult to use the laptop regularly. Problems with SLEEP: None of the solutions on this link seem to work: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/universal/sleep.html . When I press the sleep button on macOS Mojave (my current version), the display simply turns off - by moving the mouse or pressing the button it will turn on. I have tried almost all of the solutions on that link except those that are not related to my laptop build (example: Thunderbolt or NVMe) and audio (which I have yet to figure out). For example, I have tried USB Mapping, CPU power management, IRQ conflicts, changing BIOS settings, etc. I also attempted some DSDT patches online for my laptop, but all failed to compile correctly on MaciA...
Big Sur 11.2.1 on Lenovo X260
Image
Worked on this for quite a few days, had a problem that caused a very lengthy boot time of about 20 minutes, but finally figured that out (DSDT) and I've got a success! Installed 11.2 and upgraded in place to 11.2.1. Certainly doesn't perform like my M1 Air, but was a lot more fun. CPU: Intel Core i7 6500U @ 2.8GHz Bootloader: OpenCore 0.6.6 GPU: Intel HD graphics 520 RAM: 8GB DDR4-2133 Memory Make and Model: Lenovo ThinkPad x260 Audio Codec: Realtek ALC3245 Ethernet Card: Intel I219-LM Wifi/BT Card: Intel Dual-band AC8260 BIOS revision: 1.47 released Sept 2020 Trackpoint does not function, but this seems pretty common from what I've read. Or the SD card reader. Also still working to figure out why it doesn't wake from sleep, but otherwise everything else seems functional! submitted by /u/BadWolfx86 [link] [comments] [► Source]

Then I tried the Clover EFI you provide here for x79 and the result is almos the same, only this time I get stucked at the line of plus signs. HP EliteBook 840 G6 - Hackintosh
Image
Well, I extracted DSDT from working HP EliteBook 840 G6 and created some ACPI and added some essential drivers, tools and kexts to get it work, however still getting different panics. I created a repo if anyone interested to mess. Note that form factor of G6 is typically as G5, no differences. This is good for EliteBook 830, 840 and 850 Intel based processors (i5 and i7). submitted by /u/mahdose [link] [comments] [► Source]

Hackintosh Help --Video Issues
Image
So I've an HP EliteBook 2560P laptop. It's Series 6 (Sandy Bridge) with HD3000 graphics. I've got it up and running on Catalina 10.15.7. I'm in the process of transitioning away from all Clover injection atm. Where I'm at is that I had fully working video... until I started chasing down the other items: no native WiFi, no trackpad (keyboard works), and no audio... Fixed trackpad, and audio issues, but broke full res video (I'm faking out a projector right now by using a fake-id in Clover, 0x0126). It works, it boots, but it's like looking at the world through bleary, red-rimmed hungover eyes. Yeah, I know non-metal cards aren't supported after High Sierra, but I've never lacked for QE/CI (there are patches from Chris1111 & dosdude1's). So that parts taken care of. It does work when I don't monkey it up. Looking for some advice here. How do WhateverGreen/Lilu "patching" work. Are they DSDT/SSDT dependent, do they use boot arg...

HP Elitebook G7 Series - almost done
Image
After searching for a Catalina/Big Sur Guide for my Elitebook 840 G7 I figured I might try it on my own and create my a EFI from Scratch. As I have never done this before I followed the Opencore Install Guide and managed to get most things up and running. Currently I am running Big Sur 11.1 and OC 0.6.5 Currently working: Keyboard incl. volume and brightness Function Keys (microphone mute doesn't give any reaction) Speakers and integrated 3.5mm Combojack USB-Ports but no mapping until now "Thunderbolt"-Ports - they are marked as Thunderbolt on the case but I'm not sure if they are really working, will test that tomorrow as I don't have the Dock on hand right now. USB-C Dock including all Ports - DP no 4k but I guess that has to do with Graphics Settings Webcam Shutdown, Reboot - until last week Shutdown was only possible without the USB-Dock connected, I don't know what exactly changed it but now it is working with the Dock connected too. WIFI wi...
Can't install on my Asus P9X79 Deluxe, i7 3930k (Sandy Bridge E) (HEDT)
Image
Hey guys! I'm not really new to hackintoshing, but new to using OpenCore. Loving the documentation and just the design of it so far. But I'm having problems getting the install to start on my desktop. I tried Big Sur and Catalina, I get the same error both times. Different USB sticks. Specs: Motherboard: Asus P9X79 Deluxe (X79) CPU: Intel i7-3930K (Sandy Bridge E, no integrated GPU) GPU: AMD Sapphire RX580 8GB I followed the guide at https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/config-HEDT/ivy-bridge-e.html I get to the OpenCore selection and after selecting the "Install macos" entry, I soon get stuck at "PCI configuration begin". Photo of boot: https://imgur.com/a/2IjxIaH Here is my EFI folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ourxyj22fot1pf3/EFI-01.zip?dl=0 I used this SSDT, because I have an X79 motherboard: https://dortania.github.io/Getting-Started-With-ACPI/Universal/unc0.html and I suspect the problem is in the SSDT-UNC.aml file not being ...
Help! Should I upgrade existing Audio Rig? (One last time...)
Image
I have a X79 Hackintosh running Mojave. CPU is 3930K (OC 4.2). System is old, config is from Rampagedev if that name still rings a bell around here. I run Reaper, Reason and Ableton. With the new M1 chips being rolled out and Intel support going EOL soon I am wondering if it's worth going i9900K / Z490 for an upgrade? My rig runs nicely so need to decide based upon: 1) Time invested learning new build method (OpenCore, manual creation of DSDT, etc) 2) Real world performance gains. How much might I gain in terms of CPU/RT performance? 3) Really struggling with the idea of supporting Intel at this point. I am this close to going Ryzen Win10 even though I have been on macOS since the mid nineties. P.S. Soundcard is RME HDSPe MADI FX. submitted by /u/DontBeEvil-YeahRight [link] [comments] [► Source]
Anybody with a Thinkpad T440 have a working touch screen?
Image
Hi all, I've successfully got a Hackintosh install up and running with Big Sur and OC 0.6.5 on my T440. All is working incredibly well, as was pretty simple, however the final piece of the puzzle is my touch screen. Using Touch Base, the touch functions great, however I am not interested in paying their ridiculous asking price for the full version of the driver. I did manage to find out it's an ELAN USB touch device through this however. Booting into Windows and checking device manager, I can see that it is indeed an ELAN device, however searching the device ID online has not turned up many useful results. With this knowledge, I have tried almost all possible combinations of VoodooI2C, VoodooI2CELAN and VoodooI2CHID, after applying the Windows 10 patch with MaciASL, without any success. The kexts appear to inject properly, but no touch function is present. Checking through System Report and IORegistryExplorer, I can not even see the touch screen listed anywhere, even when t...
ThinkCentre M93P Tiny - OpenCore 0.6.5 - OSX Big Sur 11.1

OSX BigSur 11.1 - m93p Tiny Machine : Lenovo ThinkCentre M93P Tiny CPU: Core i5 4590T Quad Core GPU: Intel HD 4600 RAM: 8 + 4 GB RAM Wifi/BT Card: BCM94352HMB HDD: Samsung Evo 860 250GB Followed Official Dortania OpenCore Guide and the setup is seamless. Everything is working well. Initially faced a problem with the wifi(Bluetooth was detected) Card. Disabled the AirPortBrcm4360_Injector.kext in AirportBrcmFixup.kext , Then removed and reseated the card on motherboard which fixed the issue. Click here First tried the Pre-Built SSDTs ( links available in the Guide) and everything worked. Then I dumped both SSDT-PLUG and SSDT-EC with SSDTTIME in Win 10. Added both of them but, the X86PlatformPlugin did not show up under the first core of the processor ( meaning, the power management is not working) . so I reverted back to Pre-Build DSDTs and everything is fine. I'm puzzled but I will look into it later and let you guys know. Configured a week back and no issues so ...
