Making Hackintosh installer in Linux

Here's what you'll need: A 4GB USB Stick The macrecovery.py tool from OpenCore Downloading macOS To create a bootable installer, follow these steps: Navigate to the macrecovery's folder. Execute the appropriate macrecovery.py command for your desired macOS version. Making the installer in Windows

Supported version: 0.6.6 While you don't need a fresh install of macOS to use OpenCore, some users prefer having a fresh slate with their boot manager upgrades. To start you'll need the following: 4GB USB Stick For USB larger than 16 GB to format in FAT32 use  Rufus method macrecovery.py (opens new window) This will require  Python installed (opens new window) # Downloading macOS To grab legacy installers is super easy, first grab a copy of  OpenCorePkg   (opens new window) and head to  /Utilities/macrecovery/ . Next copy the folder path for the macrecovery folder: From here, you'll want to open up a Command Prompt and cd into the macrecovery folder that we copied earlier: cd Paste_Folder_Path Now run one of the following depending on what version of macOS you want(Note these scripts rely on  Python   (opens new window) support, please install if you haven't already): # Lion(10.7): python macrecovery.py -b Mac-2E6FAB96566FE58C -m 00000000000F25Y00 do...
My Hackintosh doesn't work with my new monitor
Image
Hello, I have a hackintosh that I built in in 2017 I think it's either on sierra or el capitan I am not sure. It's a 7700k, z270 aorus gaming 5, 1060 6gb. I updated recently to a 240hz monitor and ever since then I have not been able to boot up my mac without it just not sending a signal to the monitor. Maybe it's because I updated the drivers for my graphics card? I honestly don't know. Really I built this machine with the help of a professor in college and I never learned much about how the system actually functioned I just know that it worked. All I know is the mac boots up it shows the boot logo on my second monitor (HDMI output) and then it shuts off the monitor and never comes back on. There was one point a few months ago when I could get it to boot into the os for a few minutes before the monitor shut off but I haven't been able to use it since then. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate them. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/bangers132 ...

GUI never starts on macOS VMs on ESXi
Image
I'm using the Unlocker 3 from here https://github.com/hugepants/esxi-unlocker I've never run into this issue before, but it even affects VMs running on nested ESXi hosts so I'm almost tempted to believe it's a problem specific to this hardware. This is on Netapp HCI . When I go to boot a VM from an ISO, it gets to the point where the GUI would start and I get a beachball cursor and the apple logo is still visible. I've tested this on multiple versions of macOS including Lion, El Capitan, High Sierra, Mojave. same behavior. I would be inclined to say the the Intel Xeon Silver CPU is not supported, but I can boot into single user mode just fine, and that shouldn't affect the virtual GPU presented to the VMs. I'm not passing through a GPU or anything. just using the Vmware virtual graphics device. The intent was to create a pool of mac devices for testing rolling out our MDM strategy to non-Windows devices (all the devs that use Macs at work). Any ideas w...
Merom processors with OpenCore?
Image
I have this old Dell Latitude D530 with a Core 2 Duo T7250 (Merom) and an Intel GMA X3100. While the Merom processor would theoretically allow me to run anything up to El Capitan, the X3100 with OpenCore only works with Leopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion. The only problem is that there seems to be a lack of information on the Merom processor family. The guides for SSDTs and the config.plist only seem to target Penryn and up for desktops - for laptops information is targeted for Clarksfield/Arrandale and up. Is there any resource on how OpenCore works with these old Merom machines? submitted by /u/SKStrategia06 [link] [comments] [► Source]

Blurry screen on Catalina
Image
Hello, tonight i've updated my hackintosh was on El Capitan. I used SwitchResX to use 1440p res and it worked perfectly, but now on Catalina, in 1440p my screen is blurry and I don't understand why, but 1080p works perfectly. I think it's probably about my SMBIOS who's simulate a non-retina display but I can't change it because my computer restart if i use iMac 16,2 instead of 14,2. Any ideas? Thank you :) submitted by /u/looic_ [link] [comments] [► Source]
OC opencore sabertooth x79 El capitan install - help
Image
Hi guys, can open core boot loader work with my system ? I have sabertooth x79, cpu 3930k and gpu ZOTAC GeForce GTX 680 4GB. i have legacy bios not UEFI, same thing for the gpu. SSD 830 EVO and m.2 960 EVO. I have always been using my mackintosh with clover but getting lately some regular crashes and tired of the power management issue where the cpu throttle to full speed and not go down.. i guess its some poor or broken patching from clover... I would love to try open core and install a fresh install of El Capitan 10.11.6 to my m.2 960 evo but not sure where to start and what i should include in the EFI folder of the usb install disk. Of course I'm planing to install Big sur as well but i still need some software that works in El Capitan that i can't live without, for example like DUE Version 1.2.6 (812) submitted by /u/RedbuL007 [link] [comments] [► Source]
Converting hackintosh back into windows?
Image
I don't know if this is the right place to put this but it seems like a sorta appropriate place. So hackintosh stuff isn't my strong suit so I'm sure that what i want to do is simpler than I think. Anyway we have this kinda old hackintosh that we used to use until we upgraded to an early 2009 mac pro. The hackintosh currently has El Capitan on it and we don't use it anymore. So I was wondering how you convert the hackintosh back into windows 10. I've looked around and all I've been able to find is dual booting which isn't what I want. Any information on how to do this is appreciated! submitted by /u/Orange_juice12 [link] [comments] [► Source]
