What GPU has dual DisplayPort/Mini-DP that is compatible with Hackintosh?
Image
I am looking for a GPU that has dual DisplayPort or dual Mini-DP for my current monitor setup, and some wiggle room if I add another 4K monitor to my home computer (hence needing a second DP/mDP). I do not play any sort of games on my computer, so I am just looking for something that can drive dual 4K monitors. If anyone knows of a GPU that could do so, that would be great! Not necessarily on a budget, but I’m sure anything above the power level of a 1060 would be overkill. submitted by /u/Blessed_And_Redeemed [link] [comments] [► Source]

Only guests allowed
Image
My colleague's hackintosh in my studio is acting weird; atm we can only log in with a guest account. The other user's directory is still there, but we can't log in. Also there's a root user that he didn't make and we can't use his admin credentials to make any significant changes through the guest account. I can imagine what you're thinking; but we're still on Sierra, not high at all. Tried most of the obvious stuff (-x-v) / alt or shift at login screen etc. So far Google hasn't given me a solution, but maybe you guys have? submitted by /u/subtiv [link] [comments] [► Source]

No video with GTX 1070
Image
I'm running High Sierra on 378.10.10.10.20.107 of the web driver. When I get past the Apple logo on startup, the screen goes blank. I can log in with Screen Sharing to see that the 1070 is detected, the drivers are operational, and video acceleration works correctly, but there is no output through HDMI. My GTX 980 works fine. What can I do to fix this? submitted by /u/unscot [link] [comments] [► Source]

12-Core Xeon Hackintosh Build - How does this look?
Image
I currently use a Late 2013 iMac 27", boasting an i5, a GTX 775M, and a 1TB HDD. Over the course of four years it's become increasingly slow, and I've since been toying around with the thought of building a Hackintosh in which I could throw more extensive tasks at. My main goal is to build something at least twice as fast as my iMac. I set myself a relatively small budget, and this is what I've managed to come up with: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/breakfict/saved/QVKCJx Finding a motherboard that had dual socket LGA1366 slots was difficult, but looking at the SuperMicro X8DTL-IF, it appears to be compatible with all the components I've selected. I intend for the 64GB SSD to plug into one of the PCI-E slots and dual boot macOS and Windows 10, with a 1TB HDD storing the rest of my files. The GTX-780 would drive video. 32GB of RAM sounds nice, albeit 1333MHz DDR3 is pretty deprecated and that's all I can really get out of any of these bizarre dual LGA1366 boards...
EFI_Clover for VMware
Clover r4324 with minimal config.plist compatible for use in VMWare Workstation. Tested with unlocked Workstation 12 running OSX 10.9 -->10.13 guest in Windows X64 host. Installation 1. Download and unzip EFI folder from "EFI_Clover_r4324 for VMware.zip" 2. Mount your VM's EFI System Partition eg in terminal diskutil mount disk0s1 3. Copy EFI folder from step 1 into the EFI partition. 4. Reboot your VM. Substitute your own unique and valid MLB and ROM variables in the /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist (Rt Variables section) to activate iMessage/Facetime on your VM. How to set up Hackintosh

Hi! I would really like to dual-boot macOS on my second drive (preferably High Sierra, if possible). I want to do this so I can run Logic Pro X, Adobe software, and some other macOS-centric programs. My specs are as follows: i5-6600k (no OC as of right now) 16 GB DDR4 2400 RAM Asus Z170-E Motherboard GTX 1080 256 GB SSD (running Windows) 1 TB HDD (Want to be able to dual boot macOS on this with about 100 GiB to spare and then have everything else free for windows to use. Changed motherboard, immediate backtrace crash on High Sierra? May be related to Intel Optane
Image
Hello there! I was previously running my Hackintosh on an AHCI setup using a Dell Optiplex 3020 MT board, but recently changed over to an Asus Tuf z270 Mark 2 running Intel Optane (Premium RST/Raid). I've noticed that when I have my bios set to AHCI, Clover appears to get closer to booting, but then restarts before it quite gets there. However, when set to RST, it doesn't want to boot at all, instead throwing a very quick backtrace. I'm only planning on using the Optane module with my windows partition, and wanted to see if there's a way to get Hackintosh to boot despite my UEFI being set to Raid. I have tried out the SATA Raid Unsupported kext, but so far have noticed no improvement. Is there anything else anyone might be able to recommend? Also what would be the best way about getting the boot text? It goes by so fast during the crash that I can't check for any specific errors. Looks like I was able to get two screenshots by enabling the "Don't restart on...

Hackintosh Graphic Issues
Image
I've been running a Hackintosh for a few years, but recently I've run into some issues with graphic distortion. Because the issue popped out of the blue, I initially assumed it was a hardware issue, however the problem doesn't exist when I boot to Windows. Generally on bootup everything looks okay, but after a few minutes, things start to break down. After the problem gets bad enough, the computer either crashes to reboot or the login screen. https://i.imgur.com/ejPPUCf.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YvNW5m7.jpg CPU: 4770k Motherboard: ASRock Z97 PRO4 GPU: 650TI Boost config.plist: https://pastebin.com/7wyUV30a I've tried both with and without "nvda_drv=1" I'm running macOS 10.13.1, and Clover r4297. Kernel Panic during boot when GTX 660Ti is plugged in tried reinstalling Web drivers didn't help
Image
Got my hands on a GTX 660ti when the GPU is plugged into the computer my hackintosh restarts halfway though the first boot, it takes at least 1 reboot for it to boot properly. When it does finally boot up to MacOS I get a error message saying that MacOS didn't shut down properly and another error message with the kernel panic details. I noticed that this user had the exact issue and error message however the solutions provided didn't work. The issue occurs with and without the Web Drivers only when the GPU is installed. USB Bluetooth Adapter often not working on startup.

When I first start up my vanilla 10.13.2 build, the magic mouse / keyboard I'm using don't work, and I often get the Bluetooth Keyboard setup assistant popping up. The temporary workaround I've been using is to simply unplug / plug back in the adapter, and most times that solves, but I'm looking for a better long term solution. Any suggestions? Waze App Gains Support for Motorcycles, 'OK Waze' Voice Control, Carpool Lanes [Video]
Image
The Waze navigation app for iOS has received one of its biggest updates ever bringing support for motorcycles, 'OK Waze' voice control, and HOV routes. Motorcycle Vehicle Option: Open to Wazers worldwide who prefer to ride on two (or three) wheels, this is the third unique vehicle type supported by Waze, and it comes complete with specialized routing to help make finding freedom on the open road simpler and faster. In addition to the real-time road updates and alerts, Wazers riding in motorcycle mode will be directed on routes optimized for motorcyclists based on where fellow Wazers-on-wheels are riding and the more you ride in the motorcycle setting, the smarter the routing will become. To sweeten the deal, better routing also means you'll see a more accurate projected arrival time at your destination. The company has also released a security update which will be automatically installed on all systems running High Sierra 10.13.1. --- Security is a top priority for every Apple product, and regrettably we stumbled with this release of macOS. When our security engineers became aware of the issue Tuesday afternoon, we immediately began working on an update that closes the security hole.
