Mac Mini Server Mid 2010 (Macmini 4,1) - OCLP issues, help please
Image
Hi! I have been struggling with installing Big Sur (or any other supported OS to be honest) to my gf's 2010 Mac Mini. She needs to install InCopy 2024 for a job and we can't afford a new Mmac yet. Backstory: I replaced 1 of the 2 HDDs with a compatible Kingston SSD, 480 GB. -I installed the latest supported version, MacOS High Sierra, and updated everything to the latest version. I even managed to install High Sierra to both drives separately to have an OS to build the OpenCore LP drives when installations fail. I downloaded OCLP 1.5.0, and used it to download the latest version of Big Sur . I created an installation drive and proceeded with the installation following their guide. The first few attempts resulted in "proper" installation procedures but the first boot would get stuck on the loading bar. I eventually enabled debugging in the OCLP drive, and found that it was getting stuck due to a Kernel Panic error: Sorry for the picture, High Sierra i...
Late 2012 Mac Mini, unable to finish Sonoma install
Image
It gets all the way through the install until it’s time to reboot to the internal drive to finish the install, but this just happens. I’ll try my usual troubleshooting, remaking the installer USB disk, and making sure this new SSD I put in this thing works. But I’ve been doing this for years on my Mac Pro 5,1 and have never seen an error like this so I thought I’d post. submitted by /u/DarthRevanG4 [link] [comments] [► Source]

What the state of this subreddit?
Image
No one is talking about it so I felt the obligation to First of all the subreddit is full of people asking the same question either about wanting a prebuilt EFI or using a RTX card or flat out wanting someone to hackintosh for them, why are the mods not deleting those flood posts? It is genuinely going to ruin search results for people that might be wanting a genuine answer but only find garbage Second of all why is the subreddit theme still on Monterey? Like come on now it's 3 versions behind at this point would it be hard to update 2 pictures? Even then the small icon picture is off centered and is driving me crazy. I am not belittling the effort of the mod team, I am sure they are pretty busy but come on now this sub needs more moderation if we want to stay organized. Waking from sleep problem
Image
So i have near perfect build, running sonoma 14.5 and everything works fine. Just one thing is driving me crazy and thats the sleep. The sleep function works fine, i close the lid and it goes to sleep state. when i open it it wakes up, thats fine. But when i leave it closed and "sleeping" overnight it goes to i guess a hibernation mode? it basically turns off i guess and stores the files to the internal drive. But when i want to wake the computer from that state it goes to a Dell logo, starts booting for a split second, then shuts off and restarts. Then it jus starts up as if i fully turned the laptop off. Every app loads from scratch and my stuff is gone. Any way to have it waking with all open? i dont mind the hard sleep overnight, great for the battery but i want a more seamless experience. Just a note, my laptop had a bios update which forces the modern sleep and doesnt allow swicthing back to the classic one if that is relevant here. The laptpp is Dell Latitude 7490, all...

AMD - MacOS Sonoma Boot Error after Bios Update
Image
Hey all. I've had a successful AMD Hackintosh build for a few years now. 5600X - MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk I hadn't used in a few months and about a week ago I decided to boot into it and the OS kept getting stuck at 'AAPL: #[EB|LOG:EXITBS:START]'. I couldn't understand why the sudden error when I hadn't made any changes at all to Opencore or the config file. Even went as far as creating a fresh config which didn't help. I then realised that the only major change was a recent Bios update. I decided to flash the earlier Bios and MacOS immediately booted up without any errors. I always replicate Bios settings after every update and had done so for this one as well. But this specific Bios kept giving the above error. The latest Bios mentions the following in its description: AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.2.0.Ca update. Fixed CVE-2024-36877 security issue. The log file and my config.plist can be found at the below link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vJ2B...
Hackintosh on Samsung Galaxy Book 4 i5 1335u model

I am fairly new to hackintosh. I currently have a HP Notebook 15 i5 8265u laptop and I tried install hackintosh on that but i failed (gave up after continuously trying for 8 days). My current laptop is fairly old now and I was thinking about upgrading it. I am leaning towards the galaxy book 4. I was wondering if anyone has got hackintosh working on that samsung laptop (kinda ironic ik) Or is it even possible to run hackintosh on galaxy book 4 since it has intel XE Graphics. submitted by /u/Abstractical_Music [link] [comments] [► Source]

Building hackintosh on a laptop
Image
I’m thinking about building a hackintosh running Sonoma because I want to be able to run xcode and develop my apps for personal use for my iphone. Buying any kind of mac would at the moment be a waste so I’m thinking a hackintosh would be best at the moment. I was looking at what decent laptops have a high success rate and I’m mostly seeing t470’s. It’s really affordable to get one and would probably satisfy my needs but just to be sure I wanted to ask how good the performance is of sonoma running this machine, if there are other laptops that would have better support/performance but around the same price. submitted by /u/Z00fa [link] [comments] [► Source]
