How to clone my Ventura hackintosh install (for backup) when it's already encrypted ? Do i have to decrypt everytime i have to run a backup, and then re-encrypt the clone drive manually ? I tried just cloning it with SuperDuper, but the clone drive was not encrypted and i had to boot in it and activate Filevault manually. Is there a way to clone an encrypted drive and have the clone drive automatically encrypted with the exact same key as the my main drive ? Please see the screenshot. I followed the instructions at https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/wiki/os/hackintosh/ in the section for T440/T440s. Basically: On Windows machine download OC tools and install Python to download the Big Sur dmg file. Format a 4G USB drive, copy above files as well as latest release (OC 0.8.8) for Big Sur to it. Disable Secure Boot in BIOS (CSM doesn't seem to matter). Boot from USB, the installation screen was garbled, so I opened Config.plist file on the drive, changed the "device-id" value to "hoASBA==" (base64 encoded of 86801204). Then the installation is successful. OpenCore is updated to 0.9.4 per instruction, and changed ALC ID to 28. Many things work, and the performance is acceptable. Hello everybody, perhaps someone will find this useful. Everything seems to work okay. Network, USB, Graphics, sleep mode. The only issue I have is when I connect two monitors, they must be either HDMI+VGA, or DVI+VGA. HDMI+DVI doesn't work for some reason. Also with two monitors after initial boot displays go dark for about 15 seconds and then work normally. What is the issue I have no idea, if someone can fix that - great. After much researching I finally got Monterey 12.6.8 into my Hackintosh. It was much more simpler than I had imagined. What complicated things was the fact that I was upgrading from Mojave. I had my USB mapped via my SSDTs. This unfortunately was causing issues with Monterey. I used the most recent OpenCore 0.9.4. and only two pre-built SSDTs. I couldn't get it going with manually made versions using SSDTtime. The SSDTs I used were SSDT-EC-USBX-DESKTOP.aml and SSDT-PLUG-DRTNIA.aml. JIC anyone is having similar issues. Everything else was pretty Vanilla using Dortania's guide. Hello everyone, I have an Open Core Monterey who work fine, except for downloading which is really slow. Speedtest give me 50-100 Mbit/s, but for example, it makes 1h to download a 250Mo file. Same when I need to work on a distant server. And when I just navigate on web or watch video, I have no issue. Hi, my amd laptop does have 2 XHCI controllers, so people at discord recommended me to install GenericXHCI, but i found CalDigitXHCI... kext which is successful boot rate almost to 90%. I decided to turn one of controllers with least of use but the problem is still here. Decided to use my LG C1 as monitor but only factory reset bios settings will allow me to boot, and even then it’s only windows because obviously hackntosh requires specific bios config. I have my working hackintosh bios settings saved as a profile but I get no display on the LG C1. If I cmos reset and use factory bios I can only access windows via windows boot manager and can’t get to opencore. Is there a specific setting in gigabyte B365M DS3H bios that would need to be on/off to allow LG C1 to display but shouldn’t be on/off for hackintosh to boot? Guys please help. Not my first build, but a super strange problem. I'm creating Big Sur usb, (tried both on Mac and Windows machine) and it creates 13-15GB usb, I throw in my custom EFI folder to EFI partition, all good. When I got to boot on my Dell laptop, it boots up fine but it's recovery it wants to go on internet with error "an internet connection is required to install macos hackintosh reddit" and disk utility shows only 1.8GB for the USB. Hi, this machine has only one GPU, an nVidia using the Kepler drivers. Two issues: 1. In Firefox (not Safari), some X(Twitter) embedded videos are corrupted (not a big deal). Under Xcode the iOS simulators do not display anything. If I remove the root patches, these two issues go away. Any work-arounds? Appears that the nVidia drivers are the issue. Currently running Catalina on an Ivy Bridge desktop for over a year with no issues. I’m on OC 0.9.4. I want to upgrade to a larger HDD. Currently running on a WD SSD 250G, and moving to a Crucial 500G SSD. I have tried cloning with Super Duper and CCC. I copied my EFI contents to the new drive’s EFI. When I boot and disconnect the old drive I only get a black screen and I even use boot options to ensure I select the drive. I have tried waiting, pressing space bar, etc to see if maybe it’s just graphics not loading, but there’s also no HDD activity so I doubt any processes are running in the background. When I boot with the old drive connected it shows up in the boot picker and I can get into it. I’ve read through the Dortania guide again to make sure I’m not missing anything and nothing sticks out. No matter what I search or try to do it just doesn't work, I am trying to boot macOS Ventura Installer and I have had no luck getting past the verbose. The main issue I'm facing is that I can get to Opencore boot picker, I can select the Installer, Opencore then hands off to verbose and it begins booting but after a few seconds I got a couple errors such as C1 and C2 not working, the other errors that might exist, I don't know. Literally right after those errors show, my screen shuts off and nothing else happens until I restart my computer. The weirdest part is, I've installed Big Sur on my PC before and it worked, I got it to boot up and set it up. I wanted Ventura because it had support for the Radeon RX 6600 and I could get better performance and get rid of screen tear.
