Slow Installation of 15.3
Image
I am trying to upgrade my system from 15.2 to 15.3 using Opencore 2.2. It appears to be frozen right near the end, but it might be just going real slow. Anybody else having problems upgrading to this build? I am using a 2013 late fall MacBook. submitted by /u/macgrioghair [link] [comments] [► Source]

Wifi not working after Sequoia update
Image
So I used OCLP 2.2 (the most recent version as of last night) and finished installing and WiFi wasn't recognized. When I run the post-install boot patching, I don't get the automated reboot message, so I'm not sure if it's doing it right? Maybe I'm missing something else? Any help is appreciated submitted by /u/pengouin85 [link] [comments] [► Source]
Finally got Sequoia on HP ProDesk 600 G1 TWR
Image
A few months ago i completely gave up on hackintosh but i recently started trying again and got it working! Specs: Intel Core i5-4570 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 iGpu: Intel HD Graphics 4600 dGpu: NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti 120 GB SSD Everything works but only problem I had was with audio and app permissions, I had to use a USB adapter because it wasn’t detecting my aux ports and for permissions I had to give them manually through terminal. All 3 monitors work after booted but before that i have to boot with only 1 HDMI monitor otherwise it gives a black screen. Anyways, I’m really happy with the result! submitted by /u/spexzsospexz [link] [comments] [► Source]
adding gt 710 on hackintosh
Image
Hey everyone, I’m running a Hackintosh with the following specs: CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 Motherboard: Dell OptiPlex 9010 GPU: Intel HD Graphics 2500 (stuck in VESA mode) macOS Version: 14.7.2 (Sonoma) https://preview.redd.it/doy7mqd53xfe1.png?width=352&format=png&auto=webp&s=3d73ea037fc30a9b85604e50106c0c5bfdc07ea2 use smbios of iMacPro1,1 Right now, I’m using the integrated HD 2500, but since it’s not properly supported (only VESA mode), I was thinking of adding a GT 710. Would this be a good option for macOS? I know it’s a Kepler card, but I’ve heard mixed things about its compatibility. Will it work natively, or will I need extra kexts/modifications? Any better alternatives in the same price range? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Unlikely-Gene2710 [link] [comments] [► Source]
EFI file for mid 2011 Mac Mini Server
Image
Hi, I recently got an Intel i7 2.0GHz Quad Core Mac Mini server from 2011 (macmini 5,3) which I attempted to update to MacOS Sequoia using the OpenCore Legacy Patcher but that failed since I selected the wrong Mac model. This messed up my EFI chip which I know need to program. The problem is that I accidentally cleared it and need a functioning MBP91.00D3.B0E firmware update and the for my Macronix MX25L6406E SPI Flash Chip. Can someone with a Mac like mine please dump the EFI file from their own chip or help me find it on the internet? submitted by /u/Own-Seesaw2696 [link] [comments] [► Source]
12” MacBook boot issues after data migration
Image
Hi, I recently used OCLP to add Sequoia 15.2 on my Early 2015 12” MacBook. After the initial installation, I ran the OCLP Patcher. I tried to use Migration Assistant to add my data from my other MacBook (running 15.0). The process took about 4 hours, and once it was finished, the MacBook requests to restart to finalize the settings. However, upon restarting, the computer tries to boot for about a minute, no Apple logo appears, just a progress bar. It crashes, goes black, and tries to reboot again. On the second go-around, it will boot every time. Although, it still asks me to restart to finalize changes. Is there something I’m doing wrong? How can I fix this? submitted by /u/dollartreegamingpc [link] [comments] [► Source]

2010 mbp 16gb + ssd on sequoia .3
Image
So did they update from the control panel. I needed to do root update which it notified me of automatically. It took about an hour plus to download and install. Even though I did patches while downloading to prepare, on reboot I lost wifi, bluetooth, internal keyboard and trackpad. This was typical. I already had a usb hub with mouse and keyboard ready and an ethernet cable. Did the root patches etc. and rebooted. After 4 min of settling down and doing some cloud sync the mbp was running well. I actually even screen shared from another computer because it was taking awhile. Went ahead and updated chrome also. It’s chugging well 15 years and going. Hard to believe. submitted by /u/jetclimb [link] [comments] [► Source]
Unbootable after OCLP install.. please help!
Image
Hello! I have iMac 27 (late 2015) with latest macOS Monterey installed and decide to install Sonoma via OCLP (I wish I didn't). I downloaded latest version of both and did everything manual on the their website said. After several reboots I got stuck with Install Sonoma, but now it doesn't recognise my internal SSD! If I reboot without USB I get black screen error. Disk Utility sees my SSD, but it's not mounted and I can't mount it and continue installation! I read tons of info here and found only one solution to reset SMC and PRAM. It did nothing, system doesn't let me mount my old SSD (I have only one). I did full Time Machine backup on my Time Capsule, but I can't access it too wifi not working with that OCLP usb. I have tons of important data on my SSD, I can't erase it, I need to get back to Monterey again. What should I do? If I do Monterey USB bootable installation will it fix everything back and I should be able to install it again? Please help! ...

MacBook9,1 - Laptop shuts down on its own when in sleep (inconsistently, but eventually) - Sequoia 15.2
Image
Anyone had this issue with their 12" MacBook on Sequoia? I've spoken with one person who has 15.1 installed and doesn't have this issue. I'm on 15.2 and my Mac will sometimes shut down when it's been in sleep mode for a while. Sometimes it happens in like a day, sometimes it takes multiple days, but the common denominator has been the laptop will shut down after some period of being left in sleep mode. The battery is fine. I can just press the power key and it turns on and battery is totally fine/full. This happened a few times when I had the laptop left open , and plugged in, but it hasn't done that in a while. Only once when that happened did it give me a "system shut down unexpectedly" kernel panic error, which wasn't very helpful. The only thing that said was "CPU Machine Check Architecture Error Dump" and "CATERR detected! No MCA data found." Just trying to narrow down what the issue might be, or how to figure it out. E...

Install Process Question
Image
I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that I have installed Sequoia on using OCLP. I just ordered a new SSD and want to know what the correct order is for installing and restoring. Should I make a physical installer with a USB first and then install the SSD? Am I able to restore a backup after that? I am not very well-versed in the technical details but I can understand/follow steps enough to have OCLP installed in the first place. Thank you in advance for any advice! submitted by /u/SuperMario35 [link] [comments] [► Source]

Max OS for iMac mid 2011?
Image
Hi all, I have an iMac mid 2011, i5 2.5 GHz, 24Gb RAM and 500 Gb SSD (upgraded). Currently I am running OCLP / Sonoma 14.7.1 (no Siri, no funky desktop graphics...) with only minor issues - Word text-select hiding text in strange rectangles - Video apps (iMovie...) not working Did anybody with a similar configuration move to Sequoia? I feel like it could be too much (I could add some more RAM, though)... Would it solve my current issues at all? submitted by /u/AGBDesign_es [link] [comments] [► Source]

I'm trying to Hackintosh an old Compaq, but it just hangs on a black screen with a single white square in the corner, anyone know how to fix it?
Image
I'm trying to install Snow Leopard (yes, 10.6, it's the last usable version for GMA), on a Presario SR5310F, I made the EFI via Dortania's guide, and after the verbose log, it shows a black screen with a white rectangle in the corner for about a second, then shows a grey screen, then goes back to the black screen and white rectangle. Here's an image: https://preview.redd.it/zcuote7fvofe1.png?width=1360&format=png&auto=webp&s=5973fc710146e876589ad01afd143fd6403b83ff The system has a Pentium Dual-Core E2140 (one of the Pentiums that were essentially just an underclocked C2D), 2GB DDR2, and a GMA 950. I tried a few different SMBIOSes and none of them fixed the issue. Here's my config.plist . If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. submitted by /u/Lost-Entrepreneur439 [link] [comments] [► Source]

Dual boot issue OCLP
Image
I’m trying to setup my spare mid 2012 MacBook Pro with windows for my mom. I have windows and OCLP installed with Ventura. The issue I’m having is I can boot to windows directly, but it won’t load the drivers. If I hold OPTIONS and select OCLP then windows it loads the drivers fine. So the question is how can I override windows so it boots to the OCLP first every time? Is there also a way to make it boot to windows every time through the OCLP boot loader? She has no idea how to use a Mac and needs a new computer so I’m trying to get windows up and running without issues. My mid 2012 that I have dual boots flawless through the boot loader every-time then I can select windows or Mac, I use Mac 99% of the time, I set it up a year back and have no idea what I’m doing differently that I cannot get it to work. I appreciate any help! Thanks! submitted by /u/DIYiphone [link] [comments] [► Source]

Can't install Sequoia on iMac 14,3 (late-2013, 21.5 inch)
Image
For the past week, I've been trying to get a newer version of MacOS on my late-2013 iMac 21.5" with 16 GB RAM, 512GB SDD, and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1 GB, running Catalina. I followed the instructions from the "official" Github ( https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/INSTALLER.html ). Last week, I tired going to Monterey, but kept on getting a "Storage system verify or repair failed. :(-69716) error. I found that I had two unmounted drives totaling 80GB showing up in Disk Utility after I went back to Catalina. Using some terminal commands, I was able to reclaim that space back. Today, I tried to install Sequoia, but kept on ending up in recovery mode. This time I followed the instructions for "iMacs with unflashed GPUs." Holding down Option and then selecting EFI Boot didn't work either because I didn't get the option with a gray hard disk icon on the OpenCore picker. Just had my current Catalina install and "Install Seq...
Last Macbook I ever buy ?
Image
I currently have a MacBook Air 2017 7,2 and run Somoma. I have been delighted with it. I have a bit of money to spend upgrading and am looking for something that I can run for many years to come. My thinking is that I should get the best model that will still be supported by OCLP for as long as possible. I would love a retina screen, but have got used to the air so don't want a hefty 15" MBP. The M1 laptops are starting to be affordable to me now, but my understanding is they will never run OCLP so ironically will have a shorter life than an older intel Mac? So I am currently looking at a MBP Retina 13-inch (2020) Core i5 16GB/512GB. Currently still supported by Apple, but I am hoping it will carry on running the latest MacOS in years to come through the miracle of OCLP. Any thoughts or suggestions ? submitted by /u/point5clue [link] [comments] [► Source]

Can't boot OpenCore

It's probably something simple that I've missed. I'm trying to install Sonoma on late 2013 iMac (external SSD). I followed the steps by creating macOS installer and installing OpenCore.
