First time no progress bar at all and was greeted by a IOPlatform error, looked online and changed my SMBIOS using clover configurator. Second time: Progress bar! But it doesn't boot still. It fills up and that's it, used -v and got a bluetooth error (I'll try again after posting this and catch a picture of it.) Hello everyone, I am trying to install Hackintosh for my own educational purposes on a Dell Optiplex 7020 which I have upgraded with a GTX 970. System Specs are as follows: CPU: Intel 4790 GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 Memory: 12GB Dell Generic When I start the installation process from Clover, no matter what options I seem to chose it gets to the +++++++++++++++++ line then immediately reboots itself and boots back into Clover. I'm sure it has something to do with my plist files, but I don't know how to properly create one without a mac on hand, so I downloaded my copy from Hackintosh zone. I'm pulling my hair out. I have gotten my system to boot to Clover and I can successfully navigate the High Sierra installer USB. When I go to install High Sierra, it will run until "About 2 minutes remaining" and then shuts off. I am running a Samsung 960 EVO and have formatted it to Mac Extended Journaled (Named "OSX (NVMe)", if that makes a difference"). When my computer reboots, I can go back into clover and only the USB appears as bootable. I have apfs.efi and HFSPlus.efi drivers in the "drivers64UEFI" folder and the following kexts under "kexts/Other": AppleALC FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics FakePCIID FakeSMC IntelGraphicsFixup IntelMausiEthernet Lilu Shiki USBInjectAll XHCI-300-series-injector Any my system is: Intel i3 8100 with iGPU Gigabyte H370N Wifi with Broadcom wifi card I don't know whether this crash is the USB, kexts, drivers or something else. I have had High Sierra installed on my SSD for about 5 months with no problems. All of the sudden, about a week ago, the hard drive it was installed on disappeared from the clover menu. When I investigated a little more, I found out that the hard drive was unmounted. I unplugged and plugged back in the sata cable, and also performed a fresh install, and nothing so far has worked. What's weird is that I can install and boot it up no problem the day of, but after it sits for awhile the drive becomes unmounted again. I'm really not sure what the problem is, and can't find that much info online. I'm on Yosemite OS X 10.10.5 with a GTX 970 (nVidia Web Drivers). I never installed the last Yosemite Security update 2017-003 I believe, because from what I understood, that update would break GTX 970 compatibility, and nVidia didn't release a newer driver to fix it. As a result, I can't download the newest iTunes 12.7 to keep my iPhone X backed up. iTunes 12.6 works fine with my iPHone 6, but I just upgraded. Does anyone know how accurate this is? My nVidia control panel tells me the driver is the latest, and I don't want to break the hackintosh by installing the security update in order to install iTunes. I'm just wondering what my best course of action is. I don't really want to update the OS out of fear of breaking what's working, but it would be nice to be able to use my new iPhone with the hackintosh and not have to boot into Windows 10 to do backups. I will switch my PC from Windows to hackintosh today. I have a 256GB SSD that I will use for the OS X system. I am thinking about partitioning that drive : *40-50GB for OS X only (system and library) * 200GB for my datas (home folder) and app. So, when I'll need to reinstall the system there's no problem with formating the OS X drive. Hi everyone, My Hackintosh ( Build : Gigabyte Z170XP SLI, Intel i7 6800, Nvidia GTX970, Corsair 32GB Ram ) suddenly stopped booting (haven't made any changes at all even in the BIOS ). The only thing I see is that before everything happened it booted by itself and prompt a bios window asking me to choose to use "last optimal setup" because a pb appeared. At first I got stuck a this "GeforceSensors : starting early shadow VBIOS". I tried going into safe mode : got stuck at this " pxsx cannot assert wake from D3cold" So then I found someone who solved this pb by updating the gigabyte BIOS firmware. Installed the latest one for ( F22f ) and now the UEFI Partition isn't even recognized. Hello all, sorry in advance for formatting, I'm on my phone. I recently installed MacOS onto my old i7 960 and Radeon HD 6970 machine. I got it to install fine but while booting I get snagged on a grey screen. I left it on overnight and it was still grey in the morning. I tried booting with -x and it booted fine and I setup the machine well. Here's the thing, I'd prefer not to always be in safe mode. How should I get around this? Okay. This pops in my mind. I have a friend who has a mac laptop who uses it for editing. In terms of optimization of apps, I can see that his laptop is performing well compare to my laptop. (Im still a student so my laptop is still stuck with 6gb of ram and a 940mx gpu). What I would like to ask is, is it okay to dual boot it with Mac? Just for the sake of Adobe products running optimized? Basically, i will partition my hard disk to 500gb for mac, and another 500gb for windows. Mac OS X will only be used in editing and browsing while the Windows OS will be used for mild gaming. Another question, if it happens that I did it, will it ruin the files that I created on a windows OS? Hello! I think I'm almost there... ALMOST. I'm running a GeForce 210 (It's more supported than the HD2500 on my i5-3340S), and I'm getting a blinking gIOScreenLockState 3 at the top left corner of my screen, but there is a very quick flash of text right below it. Hey Hackintoshers, I recently upgraded an old 2007 iMac for my dad as a Birthday present (it's a 7, 1) and in doing so I had the opportunity to learn a lot about the Mac OS and I've fallen in love with it. I've been using Windows my entire life and it's been fantastic, but something about Mac OS really appeals to me. Because of this, I'm really considering purchasing a new laptop with Mac OS but whether that's a Hack or authentic is TBD. I will be using this for my own recreational use as well as my college laptop. I am a triple major in Comp. Sci, Information Security, and Applied Math so specs are important. Finally, I'm trying to do this on a budget of about $3-600 Here's where I'm at now: I currently have a 2015 Surface Book 1 w/ 256gb SSD, 8gb RAM, and discrete dgpu. So the 6700k is a 4.0ghz CPU with 4.2Ghz turbo mode. I know it's ridiculous to fuss over 200 mhz but damnit, I want to know why this isn't working! Hello, it's me again with my oldie Hackintosh! A while ago (like two hours ago) I discovered that Sleep works on my laptop! But after waking it up, backlight doesn't work. I'm honestly desperate. I already have the installer ready. I'll install macOS on the usb drive. Nope, doesn't boot. I'll select the USB in boot menu, and it will go black for less then a second and go back to the boot menu. I've tried both my custom built PC and my ASUS N550JV laptop. Someone told me to follow the second set of instructions on this tutorial, but the command (copied exactly, replaced with drive name) didn't work. I have secure boot turned off, there may be something in the BIOS interfering, but I honestly don't think so. Hi there I recently created a Dell e7470 High Sierra hackintosh following this guide: https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-precision-vostro-xps-clover-guide/?tab=comments#comment-74275 I'm nearly finished but I'm encountering a frustrating issue with the ethernet, using RehabMan's IntelMausiEthernet.kext I installed the kext as usual, rebooted and saw the green light in network settings and was connected without issue, but after a reboot it would show the connection as 'unplugged'. Re-installing the kext, then rebooting works, but I can't help but feel there might be some kind of permission issue causing it to stop working after a reboot? Any ideas?
