iMessage not working Z470i Aorus Ultra Sonoma
Image
I am having problems getting iMessage working on my Sonoma build. iCloud and App store both work, as does WiFi. System update in app store works as well. However when I try to use iMessage I can not log in. If I go to settings, the logout button is greyed out and the status icon spins continually. I have tried to delete preference files as mentioned here , but nothing changed. I have attached my EFI folder in case something stands out, hoping someone can point me in the right... Hey guys can anyone actually explain how do I make my GPU work with MacOS? I know it's not natively supported, but I've heard it's possible to flash rx570 bios to make it work. How do I even do that😭 Also how do I find which bios would work without frying my pc. Rn I only know that the memory in my GPU is samsung. Is the installation supposed to pickup where if left off after it reboots?
Image
I feel like I'm stuck in an endless loop. It boots to Recovery Mode, I select to "reinstall MacOS", accept the EULA, select my disk, and then it begins the installation. It gets down to about 13 minutes left on it's estimate and then reboots. It gets back to the macOS installer and I have to go through the same process again. Is that normal behavior? Should I have to select "reinstall MacOS" again and accept the EULA again? This has to be wrong. Right? submitted by /u/dutsnekcirf [link] [comments] [► Source]

Sonoma install reboot loop
Image
I clean install Sonoma on the latest version of oclp on mid 2010 mbp. I make it to the setup wizard. I select language and the setup freezes only to reboot in a few minutes to the boot picker screen. There the progress bar freezes as it tries to reboot. Resetting nvram and booting in safe mode do not solve this issue. It won’t boot into safe mode at all, the progress bar freezes at an even earlier point when I try that. Any suggestions? submitted by /u/skim_beeble_21 [link] [comments] [► Source]

xiaomi notebook pro catalina, kernel panic

I have this xiaomi notebook pro with catalina hackintosh since many years in the studio always attached with a power charger and i never had a single problem...now i am traveling and for some reasons i decided to take it with me and using it as a real notebook i'm experiencing all sorts of problems.. first i accidentally put the computer to sleep and then i learnt that is a "no - no"!!! it doesn't ever wake up!! meaning that even if you switch it off with a hard reset next time it boots into a black screen... the only way to solve it is to open the PC and disconnect the battery! now the other day i had a kernel panic while i was browsing with firefox (also the pc was running on battery) the panic diagnose says that Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.zxystd.AirportItlwm(1.3)[E59AFEBB-B4C3-3AFA-9847-587D24416FB3]@0xffffff7f892c0000->0xffffff7f89464fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IO80211Family(1200.12.2b1)[3454B540-61EE-3ECC-8F8E-D894B246CBDE]@0xffffff7f88f1d...

Ventura/Monterey/Big Sur running on Ryzen 5 5600h on HP Pavilion Gaming 15

I initially began the installation setup with Big Sur, following a successful setup. Then, I made modifications to the EFI and updated to Monterey, and eventually to Ventura, with the possibility of Sonoma (not tried yet). It's worth noting that I did not perform direct macOS updates through Settings/Update. Instead, I created a full installer on a USB drive and conducted a fresh installation each time. Direct updating can potentially result in boot issues. OCB: startimage failed- aborted?

Following up on the advice I received from the last post I made earlier, I Created a macOS Ventura installer on a USB drive following the OpenCore guide. Prepared the EFI folder with necessary kexts, drivers, and ACPI files, and placed them on the USB. Then Edited the config.plist according to the guide and my specs went into BIOS settings and disabled Secure Boot Attempted to boot from the USB, but encountered the "OCB: StartImage failed - Aborted" error. Tried looking through the guide for this specific code but can't seem to find anything on there except startimage failed-already started / which I don't have :/ submitted by /u/lmg01151 [link] [comments] [► Source]

No Screen / Black Screen with Metal Card GPU?
Image
System: Mac Pro 5,1 -> Monterey 12.7.2 via OCLP 1.3.0 Used Nvidia GT120 for boot screen / install,. all went smoothly, machine runs fine with this GPU alone. Problem: trying run Radeon RX480 card (which worked fine in Mojave, it is a Metal enabled card), I boot to a black screen if card solo. I can tell boot is successful by internal lights, keyboard responses etc but there is never any image (not even a boot screen.) With RX480 + GT120 in there, I get boot screen , then it hangs at 0% on the Apple logo. I thought the rx480 being a metal enabled card, it would just work with OpenCore, especially since it always did it in Mojave. What are my next steps to get this card working? Or am I out of luck ?? submitted by /u/MrAinLA [link] [comments] [► Source]

So what’s the deal with Hackintoshes these days? (Methodology, what’s changed over the years, benefits compared to back in the day, etc)
Image
Back in my day, we used an iBoot DVD to boot into the Snow Leopard install DVD! Then I remember Clover and Chimera being a thing, which was a great improvement, but obviously still very ‘hacky.’ Then I remember the emergence of the ‘vanilla’ method, and OpenCore after that. That seemed like the endgame of the Hackintosh, then I kept seeing things about bare metal VMs being the way to go - which seems super cool. So what’s going on - what are most people doing these days and why? submitted by /u/PeterMcPhile [link] [comments] [► Source]

Booting Ventura on 11th gen intel
Image
After finishing 3 hackintosh builds for me, my gf and my best friend i wanted to also run it on my laptop since i've been enjoying using macos for my daily work but i noticed that it has a 11th gen i5. i've seen some people successfully boot up the os so i gave it a shot. it launches opencore and shows me the dmg for recovery //i guess that's at least good// but then it either dies right after showing the oc boot menu or as soon as i actually select the dmg. I was wondering if 11th gen was at least supported to some extent with masking or stuff or if it was a straight no-go submitted by /u/NotLugozzi [link] [comments] [► Source]
