Steam on Sonama

Hi. I'm trying to run a Radio Controll flight simulator under Steam on my late 2009 IMac with 16gb of Ram running Sonama14.1.2.

Is there an OS or hardware reason the SIM loads, all buttons are responsive but inoperative?
