Can not pass Boot Arguments on Vmware

More info:

VMware 6.0.7 build-2844087

OS X Yosemite 10.10

Bootloader: Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 - Enoch (Pandora) r2510 (build date suggests 2014? Maybe that might be an issue)

AMD A8 APU laptop

I tried passing the arguments with -F to ignore the config files preselected Boot arguments, makes no difference. It lets me boot a specified AMD kernel, but no other argument is passed except ? to list startup options. I cannot pass -v for verbose and therefore cannot tell whether the other boot arguments work as all I see is loading bar reach nearly half way and freeze forever.

Does anyone have any solutions? Is there an alternative software I can use to bootload, bearing in mind this is on an AMD host machine and of course I am using VMware.
