Need a laptop that can be converted into a hackintosh.

I purchased one of the new MacBooks a few days ago but have been pretty disappointed with the overall speed and battery life. Looking to return it and get another laptop to turn into a Hackintosh. Is there any sort of list with compatible laptops? Also what parts should I be looking for to make it compatible? I've never actually had a hackintosh so I'm pretty new with this whole thing.
