So, I've got myself a Acer E5-553g-1984 laptop with a A12-9700p, discrete/onboard GPU, 8gb of RAM and a 128gb SSD paired with a 1TB 5400RPM drive. I'm toying with installing Sierra on it since i'm having some nagging issues related to the touchpad under Linux - is it worth a shot?
It's worth mentioning that i've made the manual UEFI modification necessary to enable AMD-Vi -- There's no option to do so from the EFI setup itself and Acer don't have plans to allow end users to enable AMD-Vi directly, so i had to manually dump UEFI variables, set the pertinent bit then re-set them using a special utility from H2O.
