I have followed these steps:
Format USB with single HFS+ partition
Use terminal to copy sierra install to USB
Install clover 2.4 to USB, checking the UEFI option but leaving install in EFI partition unchecked
Copy kexts to USB
When I boot I cannot select this USB drive (unless I have legacy mode enabled), so it is not being seen as a UEFI device. Do I need to create an EFI partition on the USB and have clover install to that? I have also tried just checking the box and oddly it did not complain even though I don't have an EFI partition on the USB drive - so not sure what if anything it did there.
I am new to this UEFI thing. I always used legacy before but just reinstalled my main OS (linux) as UEFI and disabled legacy boot to prepare for clover/macOS.
