Hi folks.
I'm finally getting around to replacing my Clover folder and stripping the MultiBeast stuff out of my machine, as was advised in the last thread I started here:
Terrible audio/video encoding.
I was helped out by two great people, who both deleted their accounts sometime recently, before I saved the conversation, so I've had to piece together what we were talking about from the remaining comments and linked discussions. Mainly the top comment in this thread, which lays out a lot of doing a vanilla install, and which links to Ramblings of a Hackintosher - A (Sorta) Brief Vanilla Install Guide.
I'm setting up a new EFI partition on a USB stick to try out a new Clover installation, and, at least according to the main guy I was talking to that night, I have the list of kexts that need to be in Clover, but now I'm wondering about my config.plist.
I am going to try to just use the one in the "Ramblings of a Hackintosher" guide, but I need to set my SMBIOS to iMac 17,1 because I have a Skylake processor. I was dissuaded from that when I set it up and told to do 14,2, which is probably the cause of some of my crappy performance (for daily stuff, though, it's been very stable).
However, to switch to 17,1, obviously I'll have to generate a new serial.
Will this cause me pain for iCloud and iTMS, etc? Because, as I said in the first thread, I really thought everything was working great, so I now have everything set up on it...
Thanks in advance.
This community is much more useful than TM.
