So I recently bought an SSD for my hackintosh, and I'm having trouble installing fresh when it's internal. However, when I put it in an external enclosure I can boot just fine. My old drive was external and it works internal and external. My BIOS can see it and so can Linux and windows when it's internal. Specs: Asrock z97 anniversary board intel i5 (don't remember what gen, but it's unlocked and has 4600 graphics)
