iPhone 8 to 'Deeply Sense' User's Face in 'Millionths of a Second' [Report]

The iPhone 8 will come with a facial recognition feature that can 'deeply sense' a user's face in 'millionths of a second', according to the Korea Herald.

The new facial recognition scanner with 3-D sensors can deeply sense a user’s face in the millionths of a second. Also, 3-D sensors are said to be adopted for the front and rear of the device to realize AR applications, which integrate 3-D virtual images with user’s environment in real time.

The existence of a facial recognition feature was confirmed in firmware for the upcoming HomePod. It's referenced as Pearl ID. The feature may even work when your iPhone is lying flat.
