Hi. I run Sierra on a Dell Optiplex with a Celeron G3220. With a FakeCpuID and a few kernel patches it works very nice.
The issue is that the upgrade to High Sierra crashed (because of the Celeron CPU I would think), so I would like to upgrade the CPU for a cheap Xeon.
Would a Xeon E3 1230 v3 work in a Dell OptiPlex 3020 SFF?
Dell recommendation for CPU in 3020 SFF is "Intel® 4th generation Core™ i5 Quad Core (84W max TDP for SFF) or Core™ i3 Dual Core".
Does anyone have any experience with this?
