Installed Switchresx e followed the guide to add scaled resolution for my display. I still cant use a 1080x720 in hidpi for example. Native res work well! But if i try other hidpi res, they will not work. Ill see blurry. How can i fix? I'm a bit puzzled that my Motherboard Asus Z97E was not listed among the compatible motherboards. Upgraded from EC to High Sierra without a hitch, tho I didn't expect it to work as it was no longer listed as compatible. I did have to use an external USB sound dongle but that was the case even when it was listed as compatible. Any ideas why? I am looking to possibly run some tests on Mac systems and being able to have them run virtually would be very useful. I am looking for all of my options. Obviously running ESXi on Apple hardware is the supported option. I have also found an unlocker for ESXi that seems to edit the Hypervisor and removes or changes the check that VMware does to confirm that the Mac OS is running on Apple hardware. I am hesitant to do this on a system that is running other systems we are using and is currently fully supported by VMware. So my question is if there are any other options that don't require changes to the VMware that are not supported but are on our existing ESXi infrastructure or installed on Apple hardware? Background: Last time I've built a Hackintosh (or even a PC) was in 2009. I've started using a Macbook for work since then and I haven't tinkered with anything hardware-related again for 8/9 years. Today: I need a Hackintosh built and I was looking at the hardware listings (tonymac et al) and I'm really confused with all the new stuff out there. Apparently, there are hard drives that bolt into the PCIe slot now? And what about those dual slot video cards? Apple has announced the launch of the Apple Heart Study app, a research study using the Apple Watch heart rate sensor to collect data on irregular heart rhythms and notify users who may be experiencing atrial fibrillation (AFib). Any way to fix this? Installed Sierra and it works well, but if I allow the machine to sleep, it freezes up / sometimes will not come out of sleep mode. So Apple recently released a patch for MacOS which plugs the egregious security hole that hit the news recently. Obviously, if you're using the Nvidia Web Drivers then you'll have waited for their new versions which also came out recently... Only problem is that the Web Drivers are for version 17B1002 and the MacOS update takes you to 17B1003.
