Hey guys, I've run into some series issues with my hack lately. 5 years ago when I bought the hack I installed Mavericks like a charm following the Tonymac guides. At some point in the last 2 years I upgrade my GTX660 to a GTX970 which was a problem of course because the 970 wasn't supported in Mavericks. I updated to Yosemite where it was capable and it still continued to work fine. The only issue I never solved was glitchy graphics using the 970, but I just always used the Intel graphics anyway, as I was not using the hack as a graphically demanding machine.
Now within the last two years I've tried to update it through clover, the installer would never boot and the machine just reset it self. No problem, I didn't have the time to worry about updating as I could still do what I wanted where it was. In the last year or so when I did find myself with spare time I would try to boot into what was working with -v and -x, however, that didn't work. Only a normal boot would work into Yosemite. It was at this point the hack part would just start shutting off randomly and just resetting. This problem has gotten worse to the point where when it shuts off and the bios never shows. I am unable to use the machine for a period of time because it would turn on but nothing would show. It never does this while working in Windows. Now I can no longer boot into the hack as it will turn off 1/3 of the loading bar through.
So there is obviously a series underlying hardware problem. I am just wondering if there is something in my Mac settings that's destroying my PC slowly? I am not bothered about the files on my Hack as this is something I can get through my windows partition. I unfortunately cannot provide my EFI folder at this moment as I cannot get into the mac partition (PC won't boot). Though the only thing in the config.plist was the SMBOIS was set to iMac 14,2 and some kexts installed (very basic ones). I haven't tried booting into single user as I am not confident with that and have no idea what I am doing there.
My PC used to turn itself on for no reason a couple years ago, so if there is a hardware problem I am going to start by replacing the PSU.
