Inventec Begins Shipping First Million HomePod Smart Speakers to Apple [Report]

Inventec, one of two HomePod suppliers, has begun shipping the smart speaker to Apple, according to the Taipei Times. The initial shipment is said to be about 1 million units.

“The Taiwanese company has begun HomePod shipments. However, revenue contribution from the product to Inventec is expected to be limited this quarter, as the initial shipment is not large,” a source in HomePod’s supply chain told the Taipei Times by telephone on condition of anonymity.

Total shipments are expected to reach 10-12 million units this year with Inventec and Hon Hai splitting orders 50/50.
