Just a head up - I was setting up a new Hackintosh today and used clover to generate SMBIOS info. I used the checkcoverage.apple.com website to verify that the serial number was not registered in Apple's system (which it wasn't), and I then used that S/N to setup my Hackintosh. About one hour later, after booting the machine, I checked the S/N one more time just to be sure before I connected it to any of Apple's services, and this time the website said it was a valid serial number connected to an actual Mac with a purchase date of today (January 7). This suggests that, during the one hour time period between checks, someone purchased a Mac with the S/N that clover had randomly generated for me. If you are using an SMBIOS of a current, in-production Mac, it seems like it may be a good idea to regularly check to make sure that your S/N hasn't been assigned to a real Mac just coming off the production line.
