So last week I updated a few things and now (I didn't use it much for a week) I'm noticing that a few things are corrupt. It does mostly work, but the few things are critical.
iBooks cannot find it's helper application, so while I can still load books into it, and it goes to iCloud (so it works on my iPad), I can actually only read PDFs, not eBooks. eBooks fail silently.
But more importantly Final Cut Pro no longer works, and that is the purpose of the machine. When I start it it says:
"Final Cut Pro cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure Final Cut Pro works with this version of macOS. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS."
The meat of the Report is:
System Integrity Protection: enabled
Crashed Thread: 0
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY
Termination Reason: DYLD, [0x1] Library missing
Application Specific Information: dyld: launch, loading dependent libraries
Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/A/MobileDevice Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreAudioKit.framework/Versions/A/CoreAudioKit Reason: image not found
(note that my Sound still works, though I often need to reinstall the Realtek 889 drivers after updates)
The main thing that I installed was Security Update 2017 - 002. There were other things as well, but nothing much that should have corrupted anything. And I have done a full virus scan.
So -
1) Can anyone help me fix it :-)?
2) If I can't fix it, I want to restore from my Time Machine Backup. But since its a Hackintosh I'm not sure exactly how to make this work. Maybe it will just work, but more likely it will fail trying to boot from Clover? Time Machine says that it wants to erase my boot drive and restore, and I think I'll wind up with an erased boot drive that won't start. Maybe I'm wrong. Help? Advice?
Thanks!
