As title says, how many of us here are turning to OSX because Windows keeps getting worse? For example:
- Shoving ads in the OS, from OneDrive premium, to notifications, to the self installing (cr)apps like Candy Crush
- Pushing Bing no matter what, to the point of nerfing things like search in start menu because useless web results crowd out the local stuff.
- Pushing users to cloud everything, from account to storage. These days you need to look up online how to make a local account when installing if you are connected to the internet, and MS keeps throwing roadblocks
- Forced telemetry: no way to completely opt out, and some features feel like they are there to syphon data more than being useful
Basically it feels like Windows has been taken over by the same groupthink as Facebook or Google/Youtube. Apple may not be perfect, but they show a hell of a lot more respect for their users than MS is doing these days.
