Hey guys, I’m running a hackintosh and everything works fine. Recently I wanted to test wow and csgo on my machine. Both apps just crash instantly with the error „the app quit unexpectedly“. The crash log can’t identify the crash cause. Is this a common problem? Opencore 0.6.3 allows you to work around CFG lock by giving you these values AppleXcpmCfgLock and AppleCpuPmCfgLock in Kernel > Quirks. Hello, I'm running an HP-z620 hackintosh, Xeon 2643v1 3.3ghz 32 gb (8x4) ddr3-1866. C602 chipset. My mobo/cpu combo should only get 1600 out if these dimms, and BIOS /Win10 shows 1600, but everything in macOs says 1866. Also, I discovered this with a different memory stick. I have a 32g (1x) lrdimm rated 1600, which registers in Windows 10 and BIOS at 1333... And shows it as a 1600 mhz lrdimm in macOs. Same essential 'boost', or step up displayed. I'm running high seirra, I haven't checked my catalina install, as I don't really use it. My questions : Is this typical of macOs to get the RAM speed wrong in Hackintoshes? Is it actually running faster? Is there a Mac utility like z-gpu to look deeper? Geekbench doesn't show speed. I plan on building an almost duplicate machine to this one so any info or peace of mind on the discrepancies I described would be appreciated. Hi, I made a thread about this a couple months ago but got like no answers, I have a 7700k, igpu, and a msi z270 Gaming m5, I have tried over the course of 8-9 months to get open core working on Catalina, (Currently on Mojave 10.14.6 Clover working wonderfully) New NVME SSD coming in soon, and I want to install OC on it instead of clover, but the issue is no matter what I always get a black screen after IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3 . After about half an hour or so of waiting, the computer sleeps, so I assume that it loads everything as people have said this is a GPU issue. Interestingly, I tried using the latest version of WhateverGreen on my clover setup, and encountered the same problem, only fixing it by reverting to an older version, (of course the older version doesnt work on catalina) so no idea whats going on. Hi all, First time creating a hackintosh, was getting crappy battery life on big sur so I tried to use cpufriend by addin the values to the config and adding the kexts to efi/oc/kexts. But now I can’t boot in macOS (it just shows the apple logo) or windows (just boot loops) so I was hoping I could edit the config to delete the added values about cpufriend? As you've all heard, M1 is killing it. In the past the reason for putting together a hackintosh was because of price and performance. I myself have been building hackintoshes for the past 10 years for this very reason. My current setup is an 8700k with 32GB of RAM etc. etc. But as I was lugging around this gigantic heavy rig I just realized that the new Mac mini is significantly cheaper, and, if the reviews are to be believed, would blow my not so cheap setup put of the water, with much less weight to boot. I think the most likely scenario would be for me to replace my dinosaur with a mac mini (m2?) once all the software I need for it (resolve, Lightroom) has been ported over. i have a T440p that i hackintoshed a while ago with catalina and got everything working flawlessly. after using it for quite some time it got cluttered with useless stuff so i decided to do an os reinstall and upgrade it to big sur. so i wiped the drive and installed big sur. after that i fixed missing serial numbers (like i did with catalina) and proceeded to install the apps i wanted. in the end opened imessage to sign in. i put the credentials and clicked log in. the login succeded but it loged me out of it after 3 seconds and it keeps doing that every time i try to log in. the same happns also to facetime. im running my hackinosh on opencore 0.6.3 and catalina was running on clover (dont remember the version). i decided to give opencore a try since i had random reboots with clover on catalina and so far it has been a better experience (idk if opencore is responsible for imessage and facetime issue tho) submitted by /u/the_ssarb [link] [comments] [► Source]

On Catalina and previous versions, I used a method to enable custom HiDPI scaling modes on my Mac, similar to what the Macbook range can do with their Retina Displays™. So one of the easiest ways to do it, is to generate your custom files using Hackintool app. https://github.com/headkaze/Hackintool/releases Open the app, navigate to the "Displays" pane. Select an appropriate display and resolution. I have a Dell 2k screen so I chose 2k resolution. It's been a few days and I've seen no issues.. This is more a historical post for anyone trying to take one of these old Dells and use it as a Hackintosh. Figure they'll find it in a search. I tried doing this during the Big Sur beta release but was met with failure but at the time we didn't have a solid install process down. This time I had trouble with downloading a functional macOS install and had to rebuild the installer again. Otherwise the process seemed very similar to building a config for 10.15. It works very well with dGPU. I was not able to get the onboard video adapter to work (Intel HD Graphics 2000.) I've ran macOS 10.15 prior with no issues. This was a fresh install on a new SSD. I also set up a clover boot partition on my main manjaro ssd. I am able to boot into it and see my window install (4 of them but only 1 works is this normal). I can also see the Mac OS usb. I do not see my manjaro boot. I set clover up from here I set this up on a efi system partition via disk and added boot flag. I don’t know how I am booting this if my mobo is only really legacy. When I try to boot from the Mac OS usb I get the circle with a cross 🚫 and a url for Mac support. The Mac support says that sign means the “laptop” is not compatible. Hi guys, I am in the process of building my second hackintosh and it's my first time with OpenCore. As i am waiting for the stock of GPU to be back on it's feet I want to make it run using the iGPU of the 9700k. The installation went ok but I am stuck at this error message : "[IGPU] Graphics driver failed to load: could not register with Framebuffer driver!" Then it boot on MacOs with really poor performance, obviously no gpu driver. Hey all, I've successfully booted into macOS a couple of times, but every time I reboot or restart or load into macOS for any reason, I get an error where it says OCS: Missing key Arch, context <Patch> ! 25 times, followed by OC: Watchdog status is 0. After two long days of trial and (much) error re EFI attempts, I have come to the conclusion that I am not able to make a successful Opencore EFI. I have followed guides and even tried others attempts that are claimed successful on their end. I have tried different board bios, USB inputs, USB sticks, different versions of Opencore, erasing my NVMe and reformatting, not formatting...even tried Catalina to see if I could at least get that going...nope.
