As title says. I am following How to Install Ventura on Unsupported Macs EASY OCLP GUIDE! by MrMacintosh and the everything in the install seems to be going well until I reach the 4th reboot, where the loading bar is stuck at start. I have attempted this before and it ran into the same problem. Left overnight and nothing changed. I am attempting to do it again but the same issue arises. I am very new to OCLP and updating OSs on older macs so I probably missed a step or some detail. Any guidance would be appreciated. Whenever attempting to boot the BaseSystem dmg, the error `Err(0xE) <"usr\\standalone\\OS.dmg.root_hash">` occurs. On Monterey, I also see a prohibited sign, while on Sonoma it just reboots. Reading through the guide and forum posts, here were some suggestions: Change `DevirtualiseMmio` -> no effect Change `RebuildAppleMemoryMap` -> no effect Redo AMD patches -> no effect Switch between a USB 2.0 and 3.0 port -> no effect Use a different USB drive -> no effect Additionally, I tried putting the installer files onto an SSD connected through SATA directly, but that made no difference (aside from the obvious speed difference). Ive never used proxmox, so dont know if I have to do anything special, or if by simply installing proxmox, it will see my hackintosh SSD and let me boot it. I installed macOS Sonoma 14.4 on my Acer Nitro 5 and it works perfectly fine, except that the backlight takes like 5 minutes to power on after I boot I have tried BrightnessKeys.kext and -igfxblr in boot-args to no avail, and I have SSDT-PNLF.aml prebuilt. I recently bought a maxed out 15-inch 2015 MacBook Pro for cheap. I wanted to see if I could get a free battery replacement from Apple as certain 2015 models were recalled in 2019. Luckily my MacBook qualifies and I’m bringing it in this week. I bought an nvme drive for it and was planning on installing it tonight along with Sonoma using OCLP. Would they no longer repair my MacBook seeing it is modified? Would it be best I just wait till the repair is finished? I can't get audio working for the life of me. I am running MacOS Sonoma 14.5 on an Asus Vivobook with OCLP. Specs: i5-4200U Intel HD 4400 Realtek ALC 233/3236 I have tried all the layout IDs and found that 28 or 29 work fine. I set it to 28 currently. The problem is that there is this annoying buzzing in the audio from both the Headphone Jack and the Internal Speaker. I used rehabman's codeccommander on bitbucket and it worked, sort of... Audio would sound buzzy as always but after putting it to sleep and waking it up, both speaker and headphone work perfectly. I made a post before and a Kind Redditor suggested I use AlcPlugFix-Swift and my headphones started working fine but no matter if i put laptop to sleep, the Speaker output still sounds buzzy. Also, when there is no nothing being outputted, there is also strange static noise present in the background. Buying an External Sound Card is out of the question for me unfortunately. The way this manifests specifically is that the signal keeps dropping out, at least from the perspective of the display. Just to be clear here, 1440p and 240 Hz (including VRR, but whether it's used or not doesn't have any impact) individually function, but it's just when they're combined together that it breaks. Another odd thing that happens is that sometimes when attempting to switch to a different configuration the monitor seemingly turns off completely, however this is remedied by just moving the mouse around, unless attempting 1440p at 240 Hz in which case I have to unplug the monitor from the computer to be able to do anything with it (including accessing its OSD). I think this is specifically a Hackintosh issue because I couldn't find anyone else mentioning it and it works fine in Windows (on the same hardware, of course). Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this question. So recently I followed guides to unlock CFG LOCK in the bios so that I could use throttlestop to undervolt a Razer blade 15 advanced 2021 laptop since the cpu cus runs extremely hot (i7 10875H), and I was successful, went in the bios with ru.efi and changed the CFG LOCK and OVERCLOCKING LOCK bits from 01 to 00, and saved. After that I rebooted, enabled secure boot etc, and successfully undervolted the cpu. Everything was working perfectly but then the next day I check throttle stop and the voltage controls are greyed out once again, so then I did the procedure and went in the bios editor, and once again, those two bits are now 01. I do not know if this happened after reboot or something else, I didn't have any windows updates nor driver updates, and ofc no bios updates (that I know of, is automatic bios updates behind my back even possible??). After doing my first OCLP on a Mini2012 I realized we have this MBA2011 at the shop we use for rare customer "Mac support" (very limited just need to run 1 or 2 basic apps to demo/teach the super rare customers who don't want to / can't use the Windows apps) and so I figured I'd try it there too. Chucked Monterey on yesterday, knowing the ropes this time, it went even faster on that, and, that computer seems to run even better than the Mini despite being older and having less memory. It's so "just everything opens normally" fast that there would be no excuse not to just use it as a normal daily computer. I created a hackintosh via following the dortania guide, and it boots fine in the recovery os but then its stuck on "examining volumes" (Waited 5 minutes before restarting my PC). I'm pretty sure that the reason is because I have a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD installed, because I never had this issue with my old NVMe. When the macOS Sonoma installer reboots and the count comes to "less than a minute remaining", after some time, the screen goes black but the laptop is on. We've got OCLP 1.4 installed om a MacBook Air 13.3" Mid 2013 running Sonoma 14.3.1. This Mac features a 1.3 GHz Dualcore i5 processor and a Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB. However, a few days ago, the system suddenly started to behave differently after a reboot. It now has significant problems loading simple system graphics, such as the 'genie effect' when minimizing a window, and becomes unresponsive for several seconds. It takes a while to react, and everything becomes blocky. Additionally, the dock is no longer transparent. It now has a black box with a white outline. We are not aware of any updates performed after the reboot; it seemed like a simple restart. To try to resolve the issue, I updated OCLP from version 1.4.x to 1.5. Although it's now running OCLP 1.5, the problem persists. I also reinstalled the post-install Root Patch and redid the 'Build and Install OpenCore' steps, but none of these steps made a difference. I've read through about a dozen threads about Rocket Lake here, and they're all about getting it to work (which it will). What I'm wondering, as I'm looking at prices and performance comparisons to build a new Hackintosh, is if there are any issues once you have your Hackintosh up and running on a Rocket Lake CPU spoofed as Comet Lake? For instance, I have successfully built a Ryzen 7 1700-based Hackintosh, but it of course has a bunch of drawbacks, even though it runs fast and stable. Wine crashes, for instance. VMware and Parallels won't run. Adobe apps among others won't run, etc. So even though the answer to "Can I run macOS on an AMD system?" is yes, the long story is more complicated, as there are other issues once you have it working. Are there any such issues with running a Rocket Lake-based Hackintosh? That is to say, compared to running a Comet Lake-based one. I'd like to install two GPUs onto a single mobo (the ASRock z690 taichi) one for the hackintosh and one for Windows. When I boot in to windows I'll use the rx7900xt and when I boot in to Macos I'll use the rx6800xt. What's the best way to do this? Would I have to enter the bios each time and choose which card to use? My monitor has dual hdmi ports so I'll just connect both cards to my monitor.
